Pretty sure this is going to be me the first time I run into an angry Thargoid

"Info about all bodies in the system added when scanning a Nav Beacon. If you have a Detailed Surface Scanner installed, this will include detailed info (such as materials available on landable bodies)."

How does (if it does) affect the values for cartographic data gathered ? in other words do i still need to scan each body to get the full DSS bonus. I appreciate that most will be known but nevertheless.

I would suspect it'll not count towards any cartographics data you hold.

I jumped on the hype train and i like it.

WHERE IS THE T10 IN THE PATCH NOTES??

The mysterious T10 is hidden amongst the things that they repeatedly told you that they weren't going to reveal in the patch notes, assuming it isn't just the mythical T10.

"Fixed a issue where the system and galaxy maps doesn't align overlays properly on ultrawide displays" and "fixed an issue where you can't select a system on the galaxy map even if you're staring right at it", are both missing. :(

The latter definitely fixed in beta, it was way easier to select systems with the mouse. Wasnt in the notes then either.

Oh no, don't let Mengy here that... [where is it] :D

TOO LATE!!!!!! :D

Preparing to duck (no pun intended ;)) at opening the can of worms, but aren't they the correct colour? Didn't the whole beigification arguments stem after a change that was made because people complained planets weren't a realistic representation? So Frontier made the colours more accurately match the composition of the planet and now people don't like the realism.

Nope, the beigefication of 2.2 resulted due to Frontier implementing the new planet material system with all material colors (on HMC/MR/RW's) mistakenly assigned to look like Earth dirt, or beige. Rocky worlds still exhibit some variation, but nowhere near what they used to, but HMC/MR's have been almost completely colored like Earth dirt for a year now. They didn't mean to make everything look beige, it was a mistake, and Frontier has said they intend to correct it but there is no ETA on when it will happen.

The 2.4 beta did not have any fix for the issue, so I doubt they slipped it into 2.4 release version either. My guess is we will hear more about it during 2018 sometime, at least I hope we do.

After three years now, I think this one may unfortunately be beyond their technical capabilities of fixing.

Okay so - do note that nav beacons only exist in inhabited systems - most nav beacons are in the bubble.

In the bubble there are lots of 'known' systems - those are the ones for which your ship already has data on stars and the other bodies, and for which you can bring up the system map for without even visiting there.

This Nav Beacon Scan is basically to generate the Player Journal entries for 3rd party applications, which up until now, 3rd party applications couldn't get. So we 3rd party app developers asked Frontier for something like this.

So in other words - you'll only need to perform a Nav Beacon scan in certain circumstances - one of which is if you run a 3rd-party application for which you'd like to import the detailed scan data.

There are other uses for a nav beacon scan - if your ship doesn't have a discovery scanner and you're doing a mission in that system from somewhere else - there's no change in that usage.

There are systems which your ship doesn't know about, and also have nav beacons, and if you have a discovery scanner and a detailed surface scanner you can scan each body in that system and get the credits for them by selling that data at a system 20LY away. From memory of the 2.4 betas, if you first scan those bodies, then subsequently did a nav beacon scan, you'll only get the credits for the bodies you manually scanned.

And yet (sorry, I wasn't going to do this) ... SRV fuel still stuck at 45%? sound for decrementing commodity quantities still missing? iCourier bobbleheads still viewed from the back in outfitting? SRV/supercruise-ship still auto accelerating in camera suite? Galaxy still beige? Wing beacon mechanics still broken? And they have time to fix a "small dot"? Priorities people, Priorities!

Sorry ... back to the love ... you're marvellous Frontier. You hear me? MARVELLOUS! ;)

have written some companion software for exploration data in which there are a few bugs, one being a typo. in a message - totally insignificant, but 20 seconds to fix. low priority but I fixed it 'in passing' as it was so easy and one less on my list. Graphics and functionality are different disciplines anyway so unlikely that effort to fix one was lost on the other ones.

I left steam on and went to work. So am I going to find anything when I get home? Few people have mentioned some manual steam instructions.
