25 AQUATIC animal META-WISHLIST

I can't believe I still haven't done this list.

Now I'm not very well versed when it comes to fish so I counted on EAZA list to have my back, and I was surprised how many classical oceanic animals are rarely kept in captivity if all form some species. And those which are kept shouldn't be kept and so on. I feel decieved by Marine Mania.

Granted I haven't been in any aquariums, like ever, so I wouldn't know.

Rambling aside, here's my list. Looking ng at others mine's gonna be a lot more semi aquatic and freshwater focused:

1. Pacific Walrus
2. Bearded Seal
3. Baikal Seal
4. Northern Sea Otter
5. Rockhopper Penguin
6. Eurasian Otter
( I know I had general meta wishlist for these, but put up against land animals these aren't making the cut)
7. West Indian Manatee
8. Green Sea Turtle
9. Alligator Snapping Turtle
10. Chinese Giant Salamander (Japanese aren't kept in captivity, apparently, go figure)
11. Ocellated River Ray
12. Red Tailed Catfish

19. Beluga Sturgeon
20. Northern Pike
21. Australian Lungfish
22. Mississippi Paddlefish
23. Koi Carp
24. Arowana
25. This one spot is dedicated to general type of wish. Ambient fish schools. Like I don't want to spend a slot on them and neither I would like to have them on animal list in game, but they would add so much to color and liveness of our tanks

I'd like to see touch pools as an interactive, but I don't know how that would work and I don't know enough about marine life to choose good touch pool candidates.

I'd also like to see a ton of waterfowl, but I don't know where you make the aviary bird cut off. So, feel free to disregard these if they're out of scope:

20. Steamer duck (any species)
21. Dalmatian pelican

23. Banggai Cardinalfish (with sea urchins)
24. Discus (any species)
25. Freshwater angelfish (any species)

I only included a few smaller fish as I don’t really have any particular species I’d consider essential, but I do think small fish species in general are essential. At least as some kind of habitat animal. If a small update with fish tanks that were just like… “large saltwater tank,” “small saltwater tank,” “African cichlid tank,” “large Amazon tank,” etc… was all we ever got fish-wise, I’d be content with that.

Unfortunately, the Mexican government removed the protections on the Vaquita refuge area so it seems all but certain that the governments have given up. All we can hope now is that Vaquita find a safe location to breed and not get caught up in nets. And that Tuataba poaching is handled with more force or importance than it is currently
