These two are the ones most wanted by people on the forum, I'd also go for either of the two. I usually prefer species that are in zoo collections more often, except for some of the iconic animals that were in previous zoo games.

I understand. The thing is though they are about the same numbers in zoos too; 55 GF tree kangaroos and 53 M tree kangaroos.....

Definitely Matschie's. Just look at them 😍

The last two would be exhibit animals, so I'm guessing they won't be counted. You might want to edit your post so all 30 animals get counted.
no no i want them as habitat animals. I think both a python and rhinoceros iguana (as far as i know one of the biggest iguanas) could be great habitat animals if frontier wants them to be. The python less so, as its proppably to much work, but the iguana could defenetly work. And hey, its not like they are the only pipe dreams on this list

The malaysian giant turtle is a super cool pick! It would be great to get an aquatic turtle, and a river turtle just feels more fitting then a sea turtle

While the number of new lists is slowing down, this thread feels like a tremendous success. 180 lists submitted (and any that haven't been calculated as yet). Interesting things to note (and this may seem odd to do but I have OCD and lists and random facts about them are kind of a pleasant trigger for that :ROFLMAO: If this would preferred to be removed just let me know, I always get a kick out of random facts, but it may not be everyone's idea of fun.

There's a very large gap after the top 5 (which are the only ones over 100 votes so far), it would seem to be clear choices that should all get made (and some probably very very soon most likely). They are also the only five animals where more than half the lists have included them (cut off for halfway being 90)

At one time, the top two were the top two for a long time until very recently when the animal that was in third place almost all of that time jumped over them and is now leading the list.

As far back as I can recall, taking into account after there got to be more than a handful of lists, the top 7 animals have remained the top 7 animals, though their positions within that top 7 have changed.

Only 17 animals have a third or more of the lists including them, which is amazing how much variety there is in our lists. This is a good thing in my opinion, that our lists are sort of all over the place, there's a wide variety of animals and after you take into account some of the more well known missing animals, Frontier will have their work cut out for them to really make animal choices that people are most interested in seeing (most being, your top 30 that is)

A rodent is the leader of the list. After the notable Capybara, there's only four more in the top 100(at that point I stop counting as it seems like it a good stopping point for trivia), 2 of which are also in the top 20. I bring this up because the absence of rodents is fairly interesting, but we don't want just any rodents. Over all we have very specific rodents we are rallying for.

Avian inclusion is notable - the highest ranking bird capable of flight is the Secretary Bird at #28 currently. Only four other potential flying birds are in the top 100. Given the rules were for not including an idea of Avian mechanics I would take this to mean the votes for these would be for including these five without flying mechanics. To me that translates that as a (very broad) generalization we're overall not that interested in the inclusion of birds without flying mechanics. Something for Frontier to think on.

Top 100 to take a look at the commonly pointed out "another canine, bear, etc and the potential popularity of these families - Felines: a total of 8, 7 if you combine the African and Asian Leopards. Canines: 5, 3 of which are foxes. Primates: 10. Ursine: 3 Now this one's really interesting: Antelopes (Not including deer, oxen type species, sheep or goats) 11 - but the highest ranking is currently the Scimitar-Horned Oryx at #20 position - if we added in other similar type of animals like oxen, deer, sheep and goats that total number nearly doubles, with the Alpine Ibex the highest ranking currently. I find it interesting because there's a high degree of desire to see more added in the game, but there's not a particular species that's really got a large amount of support. While this group of animals is mostly not something I'm interested in, particularly the ones that are antelopes, I'm not really in the majority here (that last is not trivia, that's commentary, sorry!)

I'm just doing this off the top of my head, and I wouldn't want to get the count wrong, but it would be interesting to see how the continents place by animal representation. Just looking over the list quickly I think Africa would probably have the most representation, but I may be wrong on that. There's also the fact of species appearing in more than one continent to muddle up those numbers.

I can't wait til the next go round after the next pack releases, or later than that, whenever a second go round of lists is done. Especially in what happens with the upper regions of the list, which is in all likelihood going to be heavily affected.
