Release EDDI 3.3 - Bring your cockpit to life

@Muetdhiv3r There seems to be a problem accessing some of the properties of your ship. That is causing some of the scripts to fail to execute and when that happens some variables which are normally set in the scripts remain unset. We're still trying to determine how to replicate this issue but you might try swapping ships to resolve it on your end.

EDIT: The most likely configuration file (in my opinion), if you choose to follow @GJ51's suggestion above, is shipmonitor.json. Removing that file will clear the contents of the ship monitor but (with the exception of ship roles and phonetic names) it should repopulate automatically as you login, when you use the Frontier API, and when you swap ships.

I wasn't able to switch ship as I'm currently lost in the black 10kly+ from the bubble (but maybe launching the tuto would count as changing ship ?)
But still, I deleted the "shipmonitor.json" file, and everything do seems fine now !

Thanks a lot Commanders ! o7

I also took the chance to filter and disable some scripts in order to make the whole thing less verbose. So... good for me ! :)
I really want to dig this script syntax to make my own, but without any computer langage knowledge, I'm still unable atm... :(

The last few days EDDI is telling me every time I start the game that I have a cr100 fine on my head. I haven't, I did but paid it the same day I got it. The fine is gone and any penalties lifted it is just a bug with EDDI, is there a way to fix that?. Something else on another subject, I often visit a system named NLTT 6667 which is spoken as N-L-T-T-6-6-6-7 which is okay I suppose but would sound more realistic if it was spoken as N-L doubleT-triple6-7. Is there a way in which a non tekkie player can alter this?.

I don't know where at ED the bounties etc. are hidden. But it is possible that the update comes via the API. Is the API connection from EDDI to FD OK ?

In EDDI, go to the Crime Monitor Tab. You should see your 100cr fine listed there, and should be able to manually remove it.

The reason the system name is spoken like that is because of the P() function (stands for 'pronounce' I believe). While it would be possible to write some code to do what you ask, you would then have to add that code to every script that uses the P() function, which would be a quite large undertaking. Alternatively, you could remove the P() part of every instance, but that wouldn't really fix the issue as it would still read out the letters and then say the number in long-form (six thousand six hundred and sixty seven).

Your request may be something the EDDI team could consider for a future update, but I'm not sure on the practicality of such an update. I mean, saying "double T" is actually slightly longer than simply saying "T T", and the number of times a triple letter/number would be found are not that common.

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well and keeping safe. :)
I've been bored today, so I thought I'd release a new version of my personality. I've not played ED much recently as I have some upheaval going on in my life right now, so consequently this may not be as polished as I usually make it, and it's more of a snapshot of how my profile has been for some time. As such, I need to mention that my version of the route plotting doesn't work properly due to a bug in EDDI (to do with the Distance() function), so route plotting has been changed over to the default EDDI version. If you find any other bugs, just let me know and I'll see about fixing them.

You can download it here.

EDIT: I should make it clear that the Distance() bug is known about by the team, and a fix will be in the next release.

🖤🖤🖤 It is with a heavy heart that I repost this from the EDCD Discord:

-----------------------------------------

This is Hoodathunk's step-son Benton.

It's with streaming tears and a heavy heart that I bring new of his passing. He suffered a terrible stroke last Friday and has been battling for recovery since. Today he will be passing on, but not without having been such an instrumental member of so many peoples lives.

Elite and EDDI were so important to him, I actually got him into Elite: Dangerous from the start, so I figured I should be the one to help him close this epic chapter. We grew so close over the years kicking the out of pirates, fighting thargoids, and talking extensively about how much we love the game, and talking about how frustrated with the game we could get too.

I'm extremely grateful for this community he had, Elite gave us an amazing sci-fi playground to live out our epic lives as space fairing badasses. He was such a nerd, he loved his sci-fi novels, so Elite was great for him, it was the virtual realisation of all those novels. From Asimov to Alan Dean Foster, the dude was peak geek and he flew in style with his kitted out Federal Corvette and Imperial Cutter.

I won't be ridiculously available given circumstances, but if anyone here needs maybe some of his code or something else, I can be reached at Benton#2314 here on Discord.

Thank you for giving him such an amazing community to be apart of.

Fly safe forever after, CMDR Hoodathunk

When jgm asked for people to take over EDDI, Hoodathunk was one of the first volunteers because of his love of ED and EDDI. He was always smart, always wise and never afraid to speak his mind: all traits that I value.

Being both physics grads, we quickly bonded over things like being in awe of the elegance of Maxwell's equations. That bond served us strong when we would inevitably hit some minor disagreement here and there about implementation details in EDDI.

I'm still in a state of shock so I can't begin to imagine where you are.

We will be looking into options for a memorial. FD aren't doing stations etc these days so perhaps a Fleet Carrier.
