A Guide to Minor Factions and the Background Sim

tha's why I am asking - sounds unusual to me too :S
Economy is the same here: Industrial / Refinery

basically, states, especially boom should trigger other missions, as well as civil war/expansion/election etc.

toluku sits at the edge of space - maybe it has neither systems in range for normal missions, nor does it spawn longrange missions? i would file a bug report.

and i had a look at toluku, and saw that foden orbital is listed at as "communism", while goverment says: democracy .... maybe something locked up?

Hi all,

just a quick question: is it somehow possible to change the type of mission in a player controlled system?

In our main system TOLUKU for example the missions are always the same: donate money / donate goods.
This was the same before we were implemented / during the raising up / during elections / and still going on... no matter what kind of state we have.
If the missions are tied to the faction indicators at all like I understand, even those we have no visibility over but exist nonetheless, it is possible that an abundance of charity missions might be tied to a low 'welfare' rating?

Just a guess.

Hi, just after some advise:

When a system is in lockdown, and I'm helping the second biggest faction within that system, how can I increase that faction's influence, and only that faction's influence?

If I only hand in bounties in relation to the second biggest faction, will this only increase that faction's influence, or will it increase both the leading faction and the second biggest faction, or has no effect at all? Help is needed lol, thanks!!!

bounties only help the faction that issued them. only superpower-bounties help the faction, that control the station.

The system isn't in lockdown; the faction is.

Thank you for your help and information! And also Don Alvarez for your thougts!
I will try with a bug report... we'll see

Doing BH in system to lift civil unrest all my faction rep is taking a drop except the leading which I support and don’t target their Pirates.

Anyone tested the effects on influence ?

One of the systems I'm working at the moment has 7 factions. Our faction is in an election, there is a war between two others, and a civil war between another two.
It should really be a hazardous system to travel in, but it doesn't seem that way.

meets earlier tests from before 2.1.

killing ships, wanted or not, costs a factiin influence. in your case all factions beside the one you back are loosing influence, and that influence is distributed in effect to the one you back.

The faction state affects mission type for that faction. For instance Boom will give you lots of boomtime data delivery missions. Is your faction just out of boom? The limited mission type appears very similar to a faction were working with at the moment. Its a struggle to pick up any missions and when the board isnt empty its usually donation or goods deliveries. (High tech station).

Ok, so I have a question, and apologies if it's been answered already but I don't have the time or patience to go through the near 30 pages of replies here to find it if it's there...

I'm having an issue with the Fehu system. I'm trying to go for the long range smuggling missions. Problem is, until I donated about 5 million between the other factions, Fehu Silver Ring, the faction that offers the smuggling missions, didn't offer *anything*, no matter which port I land at. Now that I've donated, they're offering them...but only for players with Cordial rep or above, and there's no way to increase rep with them. I know you can do missions for them, if they're available, in other systems, but Fehu is well outside the bubble, and I've found nothing through Google about an app or anything that you can use to find out what factions are in what systems. Any ideas on how to increase rep with them?

Looks to be bugged. There are plenty of other threads about that faction here and on Reddit.

You could bounty hunt with a KWS and FSD interdictor, and only cash bounties issued by the Silver Ring. It might take a while though.

This seems like a bug across the board at this point, cuz I've spent the last day or two flying between all the smuggling mission hotspots outside the bubble, and it's the same situation every time. I've gone and reported it in the bug thread for whatever good it will do. -_-
