This thread is for discussion of the technicalities of how the sim works.

This thread she not be used for arguments between players or role playing factions, and I would also remind you that insulting an personal attacks are against the forum rules.

hi guys i have a question

what its the influence level neeeded to expand a faction to another Sistem..... actually we have our minor in 82 % but still we are in Booom and no signs of expansion.... ( we have like 10 systems near 8 lys) so we dont know what to do

No expansion pending in the right hand panel for your Fac?

Next major or point patch?

Would you mind sharing if you could?

I wish I could. Getting the info for the forum team that they worked on Planet Coaster and had little time was all I got and the info it will be in the next patch... most likely. If I knew if it will be a .03-.05 or a hotfix or a major one I would have said.

Actually I don't care about the patch size... just make its ETA this weekend or next week. But no info on that.

When in doubt about what is happening in your system, read the news bulletins in your systems. Sometimes there are clues as to what is happening. Though sometimes it mixes up the factions or the assets involved. But' that's journalists .

Hi, I thought I was getting some where with this "black box" but.... we had two fractions that went into civil war on Mondays tic, we left them to it and sort of kept the status quo because we where going for expansion and having two fractions in civil war we thought was a "good idea" we would gain extra influence, we even tried to keep them "close". But the civil war started on Mondays Tic and ended on Fridays tic with both sides agreeing it was a "bad idea" no stations where exchanged and they seemed to both just stop. I thought wars / civil wars could last up to 28 days, have I missed something? do we now need to have a greater than 1% or 2% influence to maintain a civil war?

That's rather odd. 3%/5% wins a civil war/war respectively, and if that isn't reached I've seen them go on for weeks recently out at the edge of the bubble. It's possible that player involvement is the key, not influence management - i.e. the conflict will shorten, even if the player involvement is equal for both sides.

Hmm the two fractions didn't get a difference of 1% during the conflict so it just seems odd

Are you sure they don't "repend" the war? It might be a backrunner victory, which is based on the order things are processed in the BGS. So if on the "victory day" the second overtakes the first, the second is declared the winner, but due to "overtaking" the previous number one in that instance, the % relock instantly and the war repeats. If the first during that time had no assets to lose, obviously nothing would change hand.

Just as a bit of support info to my friend Lee Ti's query, these are the influence %s over the past few days. The pending state lasted 3 days as normal, followed by 4 days of conflict at which point the civil war ended. I've double checked the system and all stations, outposts and planetary bases remain with their original owner.

this looks really weird. they are both native factions and should go on fighting in my understnding.

I'd suggest a bug report.

That is very odd, definitely bug report worthy. I've got a war in my area that so far has lasted for 17 days and there was a 4% difference at one point.

We'll put a bug report in about it, however since the factions have equalised and are pending civil war again it's probably a moot point. As always, thanks for the advice.

I got a situation similar to call_me_trent except assets changed hands.

I pushed my faction into Civil War with intent to take control of the second station in HIP 85244.

Traffic spiked on day two and I'm pretty sure a group of players sniped me on that day because it had gone from 31-38% in my favor to evening out at 34-34%

"Okay. Not a problem." I said heading back out.

The deadlock remained so going into day three with the other four factions losing influence despite several missions undertaken to win the day.

I just logged on today and the civil war is over with us losing control of the system and our first station we won the first time around as it changed hands back to it's original owner. Influence is still locked at 34% even.

I assumed player action was keeping it deadlocked but even then the war should have continued today and nothing should have changed hands.

Ideas?
