New video! In fact, my first Alpha 4 vid. My game and ship didn't even crash this time. Not to say things went smoothly however.

Alpha 4 First Play and First Impressions

Hello Commanders, I have finally had a chance to get to try the new release Alpha release now (4.1).

This is my first visit to this Alpha, so I try the Frame Shift Drive, Hyper Drive, a little combat and go and check out a plantery ring.

All in all I am blown away with what I see!

Thanks Neon. Good stuff. But that lens flare is getting out of control. It's obstructing immersion. If you don't mind, I,ll drop a link to your vid in the poll on the lens flare issue.

Nice! Note the graphical glitch around 5:46? Where everything disappears apart from the newly appeared star?

New video (with commentary, as always) talking about television. Actually, no, I talk about the galactic map for about 20 minutes or so. Taking a tour of inhabited space (such as we can in the Alpha) and also exploring the rest of the galaxy to a certain degree. In the process we discover that fuzzy white objects hate Elite 4.

Also I complain about the UI a little, sacrilege for some, but it would be nice to see what you are typing in/selecting.

Good evening Commanders,

Today I have for you a video showing the combat capabilities of the Eagle Mk II fighter.

I think this is my best video to date so share it with your friends, I hope you all enjoy watching it as much as I did making it.

I enlist in the Federation war against the Eranin, rescueing an Anaconda from fighters, before taking on a Lakon 9.

Next I demonstrate some bounty hunting using fixed multi cannons in an asteroid field.

This allows me to show NPC piracy in action as well as a cowardly NPC escaping combat using Super Cruise.

After all the violence and chaos of last nights film. Today I thought I would relax a little and look at the trading aspect of the game.

This involves a tour around various parts of the galaxy available to us and a look at the markets in these systems.

Trading in a Cobra does appear to be a quicker way of making money than bounty hunting, but is it more fun, you decide..

Today Frontier Development have gifted each Alpha backer with a large sum of (in game) money to allow the testing of some of the larger trade ships.

This has led to a lot of Commanders trying to fly these massive freighters for the first time.

I couldn't resist so here is a bit of a light hearted look at some of these Commanders in action.

I am back with more footage! Many Bothans died bringing us this information. Which basically shows that it is possible to merge your ship with a space station and then have it (the ship, not the station) blow up. Oh and the Galactic Map is an anarchist from Riedquat that likes to crash the game ever opportunity it gets.

Galactic Map (in background): "NO KINGS, NO DOGS, ASTHMA THE SETS"

It barely even recognizes English, it's so radical.

I have put up a thread asking for any advise on streaming to Twitch HERE if any of the experts could help out t'would be great ... I didn't want to post the questions here as I didn't want to disrupt this thread with newbee questions :smilie:...

Quick question guys. I did some more Elite 4 recording today but when I logged into my ship I found out I had an extra 1.5 million credits than I had when I last was in the game. I took the opportunity to take a look at some of the other ships with it in the video, but I was wondering if this is a bug of some kind and if it is if anyone has bumped into it before.

As it stand's I'll probably reset my pilot as the whole thing stuck me as fairly odd, but just thought I'd ask before I went ahead.
