I have no idea what you are talking about now, with this Ninja'd by Mephane edit.
He said the same thing.
Anyhow I do not support the idea of more than one commander per account in slots or otherwise because it's open to abuse, plain and simple. It can be abused to give a single player significant advantages in a million different ways.
If you want the advantages of having another commander, then team up with another commander, you know an actual human being playing at another pc or console who can advantage you in a million different ways by virtue of being an actual human being.
I am sick to death of seeing MMO's degrade into online games where people play by themselves in small groups as opposed to playing with other people in small groups.
Alt-ism is an online disease that's cancer to a sandbox game like Elite.
By the way your logical fallacy is this...
Calm down and put your logical fallacy links away.
I
don't want to have the 'advantage' of playing as two commanders simultaneously. I have no interest in doing it at all, so teaming up with another player as an alternative is irrelevant. This has nothing at all to do with being able to do things more efficiently, get extra pips, extra weapons strength or anything else at all to do with boosting the strength of my Commander. You have completely misunderstood what I and others are talking about here.
I have ONE account. I only
want ONE account, but with two 'save slots' so that I can have two separate commanders.
They would both be on ONE PLAYER ACCOUNT.
I can only log into my ONE player account ONCE, before choosing which of my two commanders to play in that session.
Therefore with two slots on my one account, it would NOT BE POSSIBLE to emulate two separate players. No extra pips, nothing.
There is
already a way to emulate two players by buying
two accounts so, this thing you're worried about is already here and has been since day one anyway.
The thing that I and other players want would not provide any of that functionality at all. It is therefore in line with what we
both want. You don't want me to be able to pretend to be two players. Neither do I because I don't give a crap about doing it to begin with. I just want to be able to decide whether to play as Commander A or Commander B today and multiple slots would allow that without me ever being able to be both Commander A and Commander B at the same time.
So in summary, two slots on a single account would
prevent me from doing what you are worried about, and yet still
provide me with the functionality that I want.
Is that clear enough?
