Should Frontier play the game for you as well? Where is the personal accountability?
Those stats have been broken forever. I guess they may have been fixed in the last week, but not that I noticed. This - they have literally NO WAY of knowing you're there (amazingly poor design decision, imo) so it is NOT "abduction".
I stand corrected by XYZ below: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/abducted-by-fleet-carrier.553465/post-8670059
No, you're at fault for overnighting on a FC that isn't subjected to the whims of the non owner. Period. Even if there was a 'board' to see departures what's to stop a FC owner making a last minute decision to leave? I do that constantly. I am by no means an apologist for FDev likewise your complaint is simply white noise on a forum riddled with constant whining. Write an open letter. I hear they're extremely effective on these mattersAre we at fault for Frontier not having accounted for this?
Don't worry, I'm not offended at your perception of me or any of your words of irritation. I'm simply pointing out a fact. Like it or not, the FC, the owner and FDev are not responisble for your lack preparation. I simply think your grievance is lacking.I'm being offensive right now
Precisely. Then blame FDev for not holding their hand.would park ships and/or modules inside some random stranger's carrier.
... it would have been funnier if it was not a situation people actually come here to complain about ...and it was (largely) hypothetical....
Acutally there is a way to check if other players docked at your fleet carrier.
You need to go to options / decomission / and there you see how many your ships is docked to FC at the moment and how many other players ships are docked.![]()
I find it pretty poor show from Frontier having been behind schedule with Fleet Carriers for years and then releasing them without us having the ability to know who is aboard and being capable of cross platform messaging them or at minimum being capable of ejecting all known ships not owned by the carrier admin who can then spawn in the area surrounding it.
Becoming trapped or losing valuable modules is not a good outcome.

THX for infoNope, that isn't reliable. Two commanders have confirmed that they have ships stored in my shipyard, and I've tested the self destruct several times. It always tells me that no-one has any ships stored (or docked, for that matter).
We really should have a passenger page to know who is aboard.
That's more like itOp should not log off aboard FC he is not sure is moving or not.
Shouldn't players have the option to auto-undock pending any Fleet Carrier jumps
this game design doesn't allow for any mistakes from players whom might have had an emergency requiring them to log off, only to come back and find the engineered modules and ship they grinded out are written off by choosing to revert to a default sidewinder in order to escape the loop of respawning on the Carrier.
While it would indeed be nice for carrier owners to be able to see who's on board, only a complete buffoon would park ships and/or modules inside some random stranger's carrier.
The thing is that even if there were a passenger manifest, it would be pretentious of those passengers to believe that the owner is going to stop jumping only because they are on the carrier or to go out of their way to tell people that are logged off that they are at risk of being swooped away. The issue would therefore still persist.Shh, don't make sensible suggestions here like that. You'll wake Them.
As it stands, having to log off quickly means you need to select launch, wait for the animation and then get clear. Unless the simple act of hitting launch confirms you've left?I seem to remember that in the other thread about this, the person who absolutely wasn't angry that it happened to them, they were just worried about the noobs, they also cited this idea that 'a player may have to stop playing because of an emergency'.
Thing is, if it is a real emergency, then where your spaceship ends up in the glorified space invaders game you were playing, seems a little trivial.
We had an earthquake, the house was destroyed.
Oh my, how terrible.
You haven't heard the worst bit yet....I was parked on this fleet carrier...
I actually think the manifest would be a good function for entirely other reasons unrelated to this issue. The thing is that even if there were a passenger manifest, it would be pretentious of those passengers to believe that the owner is going to stop jumping only because they are on the carrier or to go out of their way to tell people that are logged off that they are at risk of being swooped away. The issue would therefore still persist.
