In with an early excuse - I am overseas as of Saturday, availability of internet as yet unknown.

(Also no room in luggage for sparkly jacket)

Perfect getaway.

Klaxons started blaring and Imperial troops rushed about to try and apprehend the intruders. Two figures ran towards the prototype Imperial Cutter. The security chief smiled, the Federation agents were trapped, with no way out of the Imperial shipyard.

'Surrender now, you can't escape'

The agents boarded the Cutter and kissed.

'Ready to create havoc, Amber?'

'Yes Mark' with that she hit a button.

Throughout the shipyard, pre-planted charges exploded and computer viruses were unleashed. Capital ships lurched violently and smashed into one another like drunks on an icerink.

'Let's go home' said Mark, as the Cutter escaped into space.

I could write a drabble about the havoc caused by trying to download the Beta present we have got....but I'm too busy trying to download it :)

Yep I'm glad it worked okay on my lowly dual core. I was right about needing the practice. It took me a while to get past the barrels.

I think I'll take another few potshots at that Crimson feller.

The success of the Alpha can be judged by the number of votes the poll doesn't get. ;) I'd be surprised if we get as many voters as we did contestants.

I'd vote mahself but I gotta get back out there. There's a varmint in the rocks I gotta sneak by. Only way I can git that Cobra ta not find me is ta blast him ta smithereens. Never did like none of that sneakin' about.

Haha sounds like you guys are getting the addiction bug with the missions, now you know why some of us didnt always do a drabble every week! have fun out there ;)

No I'd not heard. Thought an email or something might have been sent out. I only get onto the forums every few days, busy at work, and at home sanding/varnishing floorboards. GOING home this lunch time, and hopefully can get an afternoon off LOL.

As I'm away this weekend for sisters 60th, so won't get to play till next week..... and then I've got family up the weekend after....

Agree. This is news to me too, and to have to discover it 'accidentally' is, well, a bit shoddy. I know all the guys at FD are frantically busy, but an e-mail, automatically generated to go to the relevant parties would have been nice.

Just read through the Beta thread. Bit nervous... don't think my steam-powered laptop can handle it - and if it can, there's a chance I'll be divorced for 'neglect of spouse'. :eek:

ADDENDUM: Looks like the laptop can't handle it <sigh>. We're gonna hafta get a new system (or two?).

Addendum to the addendum: Did get an e-mail announcement, a bit after the fact, but it arrived. Downloaded, started... It's what I was afraid of. My system can't handle it... all you alphas and betas out there having fun, while all I can do is visit the piggy banks with a large hammer. :-(

Well done, Professor Yaffle, for a good win in the poll. The field was very evenly spread this time. A well deserved win, now... can you tear yourself away from the Beta long enough to give us a new theme? Is there anybody who has time enough to write a drabble, or are you all 'spaced out' (to coin a phrase)?

I'm still stuck 'dirtside'. :(

Apologies all, I am working overseas and din't get chance to check until now.

Thanks to all who voted for me, a really good close run thing this week. Good drabbles all.
