I'm going to do the poll this week, at the request of Frank ... so there will be a slight change to this week's poll, and it'll help Psykokow finish on time for Kerrash's stream ... There'll only be one poll option this week ... MY DRABBLE !!!! guaranteed win MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

OK OK .... I'm teasing of course I'll put all the entries in ;)

Thanks Alien, and remember to get plenty screen grabs. If you can get it to work I want to set up the poll the same way.

I hope there are going to be lots of Mods ready with fire extinguishers and rescue crews.

I did a couple of test polls, the one thing to make sure of is that you tick the box "Multiple Choice", otherwise it's radio buttons and one choice.
If you haven't yet done it, try voting for four options in the "Greatest Actor Ever" poll https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=170541

I think it'll still let you vote for 4, even though I did select 3 votes max.

double bonus song drabble sung to whiter shade of pale(non-poll)

JAQUES protocol far from
*

to jump to light near bango
orbis cartwheels accross the void
he was feeling kinda drivesick
but the wake called out for more

the drive was humming harder
as the cobra flew away
when he called out for another sink
ships computer was dismayed

and so it was that later
as the barbot told his tale
that the commanders face at firstly
glowed a whiter shade to bail

barbot said there was no reason
for the pilot to eject
other than from the waist down
there was not nothing left
one of sixteen hardend eagals
that were headed to that wake..................

“Do you have it Captain? Tell me!”, Patron Cerebelus screeched, his enormous bulk quivering.

“Yes Patron, amongst the new arrivals as predicted”, the Captain's reported, signalling his men.

A young woman was brought forward.

“Perfect, perfect.” he slobbered, reaching for her. She recoiled at his approach.

“Calm yourself, my dear. I only want your bracelet; the one with the embedded data chip; the one you unwittingly smuggled here for me” he teased, unclipping and examining her bracelet. “Excellent. An emperor's ransom. You may depart.”

She had barely registered her relief before the Captain broke her neck.

“Neat as always Captain”
You little liar. You said no loose ends. Her head end is now very loose.

Wonderful! I really like how you had Simoof dress like a woman before the drabble could begin so he could be killed again! I note also that you simply said "young", and not "beautiful". There's only so much makeup can do, after all!

Fortune Lies in the Eye of the Beholder

"Go ahead! Push the button again, Doc!"

"This is immoral. The man isn't a man anymore. He's been reduced to a blithering ball of slop and drool. I won't do it again!"

Erik gave DocStone a hard glare, leveling a pistol at his head. "You'd best do it, or you'll find yourself being reanimated over and over as well."

Shaking, DocStone pushed the button which brought Simoof back to life.

"Aye, whut now," slobbered the fellow.

Erik handed Simoof some candies, which he greedily gulped down. Spasms shook his body minutes later as the nanobots chewed away at his internals.

The Auction

.

Lot No.20361 "Assortment of baubles and trinkets" no reserve.

It was the standard one unit cargo container. Standard, that is, if it was a hundred and fifty years ago.

And then there was the hallmark on the side. Not easy to spot, but if you knew what to look for..........slightly damaged.

The story of the luxury anaconda was legend.

Disappeared on her maiden voyage in the region of space known as the Bermuda-345 pyramid.

Pirates, sabotage, even Thargoids were considered, but no wreckage or bodies were ever found.

Whatever happened to the "Hidden Fortune" still remains an enigma.

Inheritance

Aoife examined the trinket box. It was Aunt Agatha's treasure box. Not much of an inheritance, just an empty box. Aoife recalled how her aunt had told wonderful stories about each object it had contained.
Then she realised it wasn't quite empty. There was something in the hidden compartment, a note and a data chip.
'Darling Aoife,
there's a fully equipped Cobra registered in your name, waiting at the shipyard. Just give the chip to Big Dave when you're ready.
Go out and have some adventures, you can fill the box with your own treasures.
Your ever loving Aunt Agatha'

Wait? Missileman's drabble didn't win? after it was read out so beautifully? I say fix! :p

Cabin Fever

The harmonica, now quiet, spun lazily away from the limp hand. A dark globule of blood intersected its path smearing crimson over the gleaming chrome.

The instrument started to drift towards the wall of the compartment. The mangled corpse of the musician already nestled there, covering a number of the black holes that inexorably drew the loose contents of the room towards them, blood, spent cartridges, the overheated gun.

The faint whistling noise faded, the sound all spacers feared had filled the void left by the incessant music, and then the stammering of the gun.

My remlock deployed.

Finally, silence.
