I don't think those counters are making a mistake. It's more a difference of opinion, and some counters handle punctuation differently than others. We have chosen to ignore any punctuation.

This does mean you can use this to your advantage to get a little more story out of your words. In fact I think I managed to write a little story that had absolutely no words whatsoever. It's buried in this thread someplace.

RL

Tom got into work with a purpose that Tuesday, filling out forms, hustling papers and files up and down the hallways. His bosses were impressed.

Every once in a while, he'd stop and check the forums. He was tempted to have called in sick that day, knowing the Brits would probably have their hands on the game while it was still morning, his time. It wasn't the case this time though. Then the gates opened about 3pm for him and he worked hard through the download.

The last hour at work. Mouse and keyboard. Best way to play Elite clandestinely.

I'd like to thank everyone that remembered to vote, I know a lot of you are busy trying to earn enough for that fancy Anaconda you've seen in the showroom. This weeks subject is... Opportunity.

The Souvenir

The choral curtain sank on a fantastic evening of music at the Current Gardens School of Music.

Having completed all four parts of the The herRing Cycle, famous basso-profundo, Jacques, retires to his dressing room.

Event organiser, Barrack Oodah, checking on the maestro, finds him with a glass of Jim Bream.

Jacques. Another triumph, you were fantastic

Jacques replied “Please, call me Skyppe. I noticed everyone, at least in the first 5 roes, wore likenesses of me on narrow neckerchiefs emblazoned with my nickname. Can I have one, please?

Barrack nodded and shouted “Get the Maestro an Opera Tuna Tie!!

You Shall All Suffer

Minerva passed a steaming cup to John. "This will help alleviate the symptoms. Do you know when it happened?"

"It was immediately noticeable after a jump through Witchspace. I suffered crippling anxiety. I had to radio for help. I was too scared to use Supercruise." John spat out his first sip of the hot beverage, "Fish!?"

Minerva nodded yes, "You'll have to drink that twice a day for the rest of your life. We could remove that gland, but we don't know how it was implanted, or why. It may be booby-trapped.

So it's your choice, 'op' or 'tuna tea'."

Opportunity Knocks, Into the side of the station.

Hi guys... Time permits me to have a quick dribble again, so here I are, with a real life story (anyone on Google+ ED community will see my comment from Saturday :p) so here's my bit...

Commander Herdie had requested assistance, he was new to spacefaring, and having difficulties with flight, combat and manual docking.

Bikky showed off some skills, entering docking stations at odd angles, and shooting down some Feds at Eranin, before handing the controls to Herdie. Taking this opportunity to make some extra Creds, Bikky loaded up his cargo hold to maximum.

Herdie then headed out to the next system. He fumbled around trying to dock, when he mistook an engine boost control for a reverse thrust, into the side of the station. Bikky was dumfounded, he didn’t have enough for the insurance.
