Albinos

They are neither albinos nor leucistic.Yellow and reddish for example boas are amelanistic.Amelanism is a seperate colour mutation. The established terms that breeders use -such as sunglow or snow white- are actually just made up colloquial terms and don't have any scientific background.

Do you have any image/link of what an albino/leucistic boa should look like Vs what the breeders are calling albino/leucistic?

Albino and leucistic boas are pure white, the difference is just in the eyes.If the snake has yellowish or reddish body parts paired with white/cream etc. then it's amelanistic.
I think you didn't quite get what i meant,i was just referring to terms like sunglow or snow white not being scientific terms or even some own kind of mutations.
Sunglow = amelanistic
Snow white = albino,leucistic

Ah, I couldn't find an photo of a boa of what would typically be considered albino - pure white with red eyes. They seem to be either yellow tinted, or have the wrong colour eyes.
Was wondering if they actually exist or it's just not a thing with boas. I did find a nice image of the three different types of mutations for ball pythons though:

I need to stop looking at all these gorgeous snakes - I have enough pets already without adding a snake to the mix!

Here is one of my new treasures :)

Love the little dark feet! Still wonder if all the animals have white variants; was hoping for a white gazelle, but they breed super fast and no-one seems to be selling any.

Luck also plays a big role. Especially the albinos appear at owners who know how to make many out of one animal. In our discord group whole breeding lines are already extinct, because the owners didn't want to be helped. It is interesting that animals that are very popular in Asian countries already have albino forms with best values. The best animals are online at night from my position. So exactly at the time when people come from work in Hong Kong or Tokyo. So, they have developed a real passion for breeding. And that's really impressive.

You seem to breed a lot of albinos so figured I'd ask you: I just bred 2 albino parents together and got a normal baby.

Is that intended, or some weird buggy shenanigans? The other babies have all been albinos, as you'd expect. Was quite confused when a normal looking baby popped out.

That's some luck now and then. Both halves must be transferred so that an animal can also become albino when cross-bred. This is really annoying for some animals when they have only a few offspring, like grizzlies and tapirs. After helping to establish stable gorilla and tiger populations, these two animals are really annoying. I already did tapirs quite well and swapped some with other players. But with the Grizzlys and chimpanzees it always fails because of a lack of normal colored animals that have good values. Oh yes and with giraffes I also just stabilize the values so that they can be bred well further. Seriously, I love this game. Despite all the problems.

I really wish there was a way to see if they have the gene or not. Keeping track is a right pain plus you don't always know if the gene transferred as a recessive or not.

All offspring from an Albino/Normal mating have 50% of the gene. You can use this to your advantage. If now an albino is very rare and you only have one animal of it, then you mate it with the best normal counterpart you can find. Then you can mate the offspring. That's incest, but that's how you turn one albino into several. And now it gets more difficult, not every time both parents mate the gene is transferred. The chances seem to vary from species to species. If you have two albinos it gets easier. As an example: An animal of yours gave birth to 2 albino brothers and you can't find another albino. Now mate the two with the best normal counterparts. Then you mate the offspring of brother 1 with the offspring of brother 2. With this you can also bring albinos with very bad values to 100%. That just takes time. ^^

Yeah the cats all seem to have stable populations going (except the poor snow leopard who sadly seems to be missing a variant). The Siberians were rare ,but I've been selling my spares the last few days and seeing a lot more going around on the marketplace. I actually prefer the Sib. variant skin to the Bengals, those brown stripes and pink toe beans are just too adorable.

Hopefully people will move over into breeding for species that are missing a stable population of variants now. I'm still working on my albino zebra herd (was going super slow as I couldn't get hold of female but finally nabbed a surprisingly decent one). I guess where I go after the albino zebra/nyala/springbok depends what I see pop up on the market place (I don't really like to mass breed normals hoping for an albino).

I will say, I'm still shocked I haven't seen a white wolf. And still no white thompson's. :(

😍 I really like this Crocodile.

Is this a Piebald Bison? I've only seen Icons of completely white Bisons on the Market. This confirms that a Animal can have more than one Color-Mutation

Just to confirm: at this moment, when you buy an animal with a white icon it IS actually an albino?

I think so, yes. They fixed it so people can't scam anymore.

I've been trying to get an albino and no luck so far. I don't want to buy it, I wanna breed it myself.

Nope, he just likes to wallow in the mud. :) I think the effect looks great.

The crocodile looks really fantastic. When I was young it was my dream to keep and breed albino alligators. Unfortunately it shouldn't be. :D

But now I breed virtual saltwater crocodiles. ^^
