Albinos

Is there "albino" variant for Snow leopard, AWD, hyena or Wolf?

In real life: No.

In the game: Nobody has posted one, yet. If you want to check how some "albino" variants look, then I suggest searching for them on the planet zoo subreddit - there are quite a lot of ingame screenshots.

I don't think a lack of wild albinos is a good argument for not bothering to add alternate skins - there's still plenty of variation in coat patterns/unusual mutations.
  • There are most certainly white/black wolves (not albinos). Wolves should have multiple coat variants
  • Here's a Leuc Hyena. Also found this image though it's hard to tell if that really is melanistic
  • There are heavily black african wild dogs & tan african wild dogs
  • I did not have any luck finding abnormal coat patterns for snow leopards, so that one gets a pass (could still add one with a paler/darker coat)
Don't get me wrong, I have no idea if those animals have in-game variant skins or not. I just think that Frontier should be able to find some rare coat/pattern/skin variation/s to add in for every species.

Yeah, I know a lot of "albino" in Planet zoo aren't really albino, that ticked cheetah is probably the worst example of an animal being called an albino in this game... A lot of them are leucistic instead of albino...
I just really hope I can get my white hyenas in Planet Zoo >w< They were in Wildlife park 2 and I totally loved them... + they were super easy to breed

So, this little guy I will now also lovingly pep up :)

Aww, that panda looks so cool >w<
But why no red or even blue/grey eyes? D: That brown totally doesn't match it

Well, yeah, but doesn't leucistic animals tend to have blue/grey/greenish eyes instead of brown?

Not at all.Blue eye colour tends to appear in combination with leucism, because of the partial loss of pigments, but it's still rare.Brown is the most common eye colour and thus 80% of leucistic animals have brown ("black") eyes, because there is no total lack of melanin as in albinism.

I played for a while today and there was tons of albinos for sale! I only looked at the ostriches, lions and tigers but foune at least 2 pages worth on each animal. They weren't expensive either so now I already have one albino baby ostrich 😂 and have wasted most of my conservation credits on a male abino lion. Just keep checking and you'll find some x

My first white baby <3
I mean... I got white warthog and peafowl before, but only because I bought one white parent from shop, this one is after two regular parents ❤

Looks interesting (except of the Eyes which look like the Animal has no Eyes but instead two big Holes💀)
I would name it Skully because of the Skull-like Appearance of the Head

So, are sandbox mutations just harder to achieve or something? Every video I see in Franchise seems to pop out mutation babies non-stop, but in sandbox I've only ever encountered a single albino and it was a boa constrictor that spontaneously appeared in the exhibit market (never saw one again since).

It's a bummer, because I would love white tigers.

Maybe that's an idea - a localised sandbox market. You could set up a zoo to farm for certain animals, add them to your "local" market, and trade them between sandbox zoos. That way I could throw down a bunch of Bengal tigers in an empty zoo, breed until I get the mutation, and then transfer them over to my main zoo.

They are so pretty

I guess its harder to get albinos in sandbox as there are only the game generated animals, while in franchise many people breed the albions they got by chance or bought (like myself) So more animals with the "albino" gene are on the market. For the generated animals its more random and rare, I think.

My first albions (in franchise, of course) were peafowls born by chance on the second day and I started to breed them like crazy:ROFLMAO: When I tried to sell someI named them albino or leucistic... but no one would buy them, not even a gold one for just 100 cc - which I guess is because nobody wanted to get scammed (as this was before they updated the pic) So I gave up trying to make cc with them and just sold them for very cheap. I hope I made some people happy with white suprise peafowls:giggle:
Guess I helped to spread the gene in peafowls very early and plentiful aswell.
My second "by chance" albinos were Nyalas and for all others those I was able to buy after the market pic was updated.

I am especially happy about my Elephants. Was lucky to find a young leucistic male with ok fertility in sales and breed them to the (normal) females I already had. And to my total suprise the frist calf born was also leucistic🎆 Her mother was born in my zoo and she had the gene and I didnt even know xD I thought I would have to do some inbreeding before I would be able to get a pink babyfant myself^^
