ALERT: Fires in Imperial space!

Terror Attacks Used Thargoid-Derived Explosives
12 SEP 3306
The Imperial Internal Security Service has transmitted another urgent bulletin regarding terrorist attacks on starports in the Empire.

“There have been indications that the four starports came under attack by Thargoids. We can confirm that this is not the case, and there is no evidence of Thargoid vessels in the vicinity.”

“Observers reported that some of the damage inflicted on the stations’ infrastructure closely resembled the effect of Thargoid weaponry. This was registered by internal sensor systems, resulting in automatic emergency broadcasts designed to summon aid during a Thargoid incursion.”

“Preliminary investigations suggest the use of customised explosive devices that incorporated elements of Thargoid technology. This suggests that the perpetrators have access to unusually sophisticated resources as well as xenological materials.”

“As yet there is no reason to doubt that the Neo-Marlinist Liberation Army (NMLA) is responsible for these attacks. We have received reports of jubilant scenes from some Imperial fringe systems, in territories where Marlinism remains popular.”

Help with rescue operations is still being requested from the four Imperial starports: Mackenzie Relay in the Cemiess system, Tsiolkovsky Terminal in the Gabjaujis system, Garrido Market in the LHS 4031 system, and Muller Terminal in the Rabh system.

I really missed the Galnet stories. Even when they were not related to ingame events.

Indeed, the liberation of Marlin is a hot topic... Space Legs fauna confirmed?

There is a Marlin's Reach outpost near Caravanserai in Gandharvi system, on the Colonia Highway. Hmmm.
The Rohini-Gandharvi-Kashyapa outposts were set up with funding from the Kamadhenu Chapterhouse of Inquisition - a group strongly associated with the Emperor herself. Hmmm indeed!

I've always used First Class cabins and charge them for it, too.

What? :sneaky: They can afford it.

Hm, none of the rescue missions I saw require anything higher than Economy. And the mission payouts do not vary with faction reputation either.

Yet, we complained about not having a purpose.

I also remember when people demanded a credit sink for the most wealthy of players and now they refuse to buy a Carrier because it has to pay upkeep.

I played 12 hours ago now and, yes, the station in Gabjaujis was still burning, the rescue ship was still in place, and other CMDRs were out there rescuing while I was. I presume that the others locations are still active too...

Oh right so they are still burning?

Separate story lines then, compared to CGs

The CGs (so far) are just about building conveniences for the fat cats with fleet carriers. Because, you know, they haven't got it easy enough already. Actually, maybe FD should pay them upkeep for having the fleet carriers in the first place. But I digress...

The burning stations story have yet really to unfold. We have a short burst of Galnet stories confirming that Thargoid tech was used in the bombings, that the bombings were done by the Miami Marlins or someone like them, and that something happened or didn't happen to Spaceship One which may or may not be owned by the Washington Federals.

Either way, we have no less than TWO developing storylines! That should be applauded loudly. Now we hopefully also get some goids to shoot at again soon.

:D S

Or we're faced with a human-goid coalition which could be a problem because ships then will have to be effective against both.
