Has anyone tried to allign the unknown ship's jump direction with something? For example take Sag A* for a reference point and test weathter it jumps into the same direction every time. If this is true, line up the star clusters and figure out in which direction it jumps.
It seems the scout is just gone from the face of the earth. its just.. gone ive not had another encounter for 2 days now.
For me it looks more like a living ship - it does not need a pilot. It is like an animal.Cockpit. Cockpit door. "Pilot" with neural connections to his "ship".
And I think it can fold itself. Maybe these wings can overlap, like shutter in camera but maybe both vertically and horizontally so in the end it looks like an accelerating octopus.Still believe that half of the ship is missing (detached ?) at the crash site.

Have we ever heard of quirium before?
New Galnet article about hyperdrives is interesting:
Talks about Witchspace and strange lights being seen by pilots.

Isn't that the name given to the fuel used in older tech hyperspace drives?
No idea if this is even considered a valid source anymore so take it with a massive pinch of salt.
Those are unknown artefacts, not barnacles. Although a lot of people theorize that the ships are seeding the barnacles. We just have no proof yet.
On another note, Chopper and I were talking to some people last night who said they didn't have a UA on board during the encounter. But I believe each of them had an unknown fragment on board. Which is arguably one of the more important parts of the UA. This is the canister part that breaks off when you destroy them, for those that don't know. Another theory we have all been discussing a little is whether or not the trigger is if you have EVER encountered a UA at all, or had one on board. The only real way to test these ideas is to find someone who has not bothered with any of the alien stuff to date and have them fly around looking for it. The RNG aspect of the encounter will definitely make that take a while, however.
Quick heads up. We were just alerted in discord that FireyToad on his stream had his UA taken after the encounter. Vid below for proof. As far as I know, I haven't seen anyone reporting this. I would definitely keep an eye on if they take your UA/UP and ALSO if they take your UA fragments. I'm not discounting those just yet.

For anyone still looking for UP's for science stuff with the Scout and despite them being very rare, I can confirm they still spawn in the Atmosphere of Ammonia worlds. Using the Spreadsheet from the front page I managed to pick one up in Pleiades IR-W D1-55 Planet 6 at 23.5 mm.
