Has anyone tried to allign the unknown ship's jump direction with something? For example take Sag A* for a reference point and test weathter it jumps into the same direction every time. If this is true, line up the star clusters and figure out in which direction it jumps.

before the alien jump away it seems to be a push to my ship... First time seems to be casual, I was even worried about damages on my conda (not taken), but thi happens EVERY single time even on small ships... Strange. Going to make some screens.

Cockpit. Cockpit door. "Pilot" with neural connections to his "ship".
For me it looks more like a living ship - it does not need a pilot. It is like an animal.

Still believe that half of the ship is missing (detached ?) at the crash site.
And I think it can fold itself. Maybe these wings can overlap, like shutter in camera but maybe both vertically and horizontally so in the end it looks like an accelerating octopus.

So maybe, for some reason, this alien is showing us his "abdomen"?

Just a quick mention, I noticed after a very similar relationship was recognized between the Galnet logo and the unknown vessels shape,
that also the loading symbol which appears at intervals in the menu is very similar to the symbols on the ancient ruin monoliths.
Obviously this doesn't further our understanding of the sightings in the last few days,
unfortunately I believe the symbols on the monoliths only represents that data is present.
Just heading back to the ancient ruins now to see if there have been any changes at the sight during the unknown vessels appearance.
All the best Cmdrs

It seems the scout is just gone from the face of the earth. its just.. gone ive not had another encounter for 2 days now.

I just had an encounter about 15 minutes ago. I'm still shaking to be quite honest. Tried for an hour without anything in my hold and went to a crash site near Maia and within 3 jumps of picking up a UA I got hyperdicted.

Life will not be contained. Life breaks free. It expands through new territories. It crashes through barriers painfully, maybe even dangerously. But, well… there it is. I’m simply saying that life finds a way…

SHOOT HER..SHOOT HER!!!

Just got my first hyperdiction. In my ASP E 44ly jump range. I have been jumping all over for 4 hours even done loads of economical jumps inside the ua shell. I had 2 UA inside my cargo hold. I was doing a jump into HIP 14111 when it got me. My final destination was 1 jump away at sigma arietis.

Hope this helps.

Just has my first Alien experience.

It was AWESOME.

Just to note: I went to Pleiades Sector KC-U b3-1 no:8, picked up a UP then proceeded to honk it.
That was cool!

Then did a single jump back to Merope. Hyperdicted straight away.
Somebody might want to try that and see if it works for them.

Like an idiot, id forgotten a wake scanner, and was so excited, I messed my plan up - I wanted to activate the UP right beside the Wake from the craft.
Just my luck the wake disappeared 1 second before I honked!
Maybe someone can try that too.
I think it might send a signal through the wake and attract attention.

Those are unknown artefacts, not barnacles. Although a lot of people theorize that the ships are seeding the barnacles. We just have no proof yet.

On another note, Chopper and I were talking to some people last night who said they didn't have a UA on board during the encounter. But I believe each of them had an unknown fragment on board. Which is arguably one of the more important parts of the UA. This is the canister part that breaks off when you destroy them, for those that don't know. Another theory we have all been discussing a little is whether or not the trigger is if you have EVER encountered a UA at all, or had one on board. The only real way to test these ideas is to find someone who has not bothered with any of the alien stuff to date and have them fly around looking for it. The RNG aspect of the encounter will definitely make that take a while, however.

Edited. [up]

im for the second time hyperdicted at Pleiades sector ZU-Y C6

I have onboard still my 3 UA and all Unknown artifact, Unknown fragment

Im traveling in economy towards HD 279128 I believe the aliens point us to that star

mine ua are from the 17403 crash sites were did Firewood's UA come from

in my second encounter I could took this picture,

I believe the crash site is that on his back but it look also a bit like the barnacles

Quick heads up. We were just alerted in discord that FireyToad on his stream had his UA taken after the encounter. Vid below for proof. As far as I know, I haven't seen anyone reporting this. I would definitely keep an eye on if they take your UA/UP and ALSO if they take your UA fragments. I'm not discounting those just yet.

For anyone still looking for UP's for science stuff with the Scout and despite them being very rare, I can confirm they still spawn in the Atmosphere of Ammonia worlds. Using the Spreadsheet from the front page I managed to pick one up in Pleiades IR-W D1-55 Planet 6 at 23.5 mm.

Thanks! as soon as i reached about 24mm a SS popped up wit an UP!

I managed a not too great recording of my encounter.

I managed to find out what modules it had but they aren't very interesting.
