Already a other combat CG? Too soon?

Hi Commanders,

I was pretty thrilled for the last conflict-zones based CGs, although disappointed that it was pretty much one-sided.

I was about to take a break from human NPCs based combat, but it seems that the next CG has already dropped, switching to the usual pirate hunting...

CGs are what I am the most interested in this game, and I was blaming that there were not enough lately, but isn't this one too soon?
Sure, the context of the CG is supposedly related to the recent release of the Corsair, but the goal of the CG and none of its rewards is related to it...

PS: sorry for the typo in the title, can't correct that.

i dunno i am quite happy with it assuming i can get a few hrs on the gaming pc.

combat zone CGs are ok but i find them a bit too bullet spongy, i prefer pirate combat - albeit in a very lightly armoured glass cannon type of ship, hopefully there are some good compormised nav beacons or RES sites to fight in.

My optimistic theory: the community needs distracting while FDEV scrambles to figure out colony economics. They have known issues with the beta that are taking their full attention, so they don't really need us testing it right now, and are providing shifts of focus.

My devil-shoulder theory: They released a dog, they knew they were releasing a dog, they groomed it as well as they could, released it, said "hmmm, we'll see what we can do about that" when its canine attributes were exposed, and now they are saying, "Look! Something shiny!" and running away to fetch the next dog.

EDIT TO ADD:
nvm, they told us why:
"Gutamaya analysts have arrived in the system to track the performance of any newly released Corsair vessels used in the fighting."

They want a mass platform for combat-testing the Corsair so they can check its balance. This challenge also specifically targets the PVE crowd, while the PVP crowd would have been more drawn to the other. The rewards also specifically attract people who already fly Gutamaya ships, to provide side-by-side data between the Corsair, Clipper, and Cutter perhaps?

And/or they just want content creators to put out a bunch of PVE Corsair videos right about now.

I actually like the sponginess of NPC's at CZ's, since it makes winging up with other commanders relevant (although overkill in a wing of 4...).

That, and the chance to meet hostile (red) commanders, whether they were here for a fight or not :)

to each their own! :)

none of my mates play elite any more and i dont like the responsibility of playing with other players i do not know so i am on my own. i do have a ship for CZs and i was top 50% in both of last weeks CG.... its just not my preferred gameplay.

funny you should say that. i am thinking of building a python mk2 build..... i dont know much about weapon engineering to be honest but i was leaning to 4 frags on the large and maybe corrosive multi on the mediums but will look into concord cannons too. thanks.

Hi Commanders
hi

i was actually pretty surprised that the imperials got to t2. good job everyone on that side!

damned if you do, damned if you dont huh? luckily the game is dead anyway... :p

Are the loading issues fixed on those yet? I don't have them unlocked yet, but was deeply interested until I found out they were glitchy.
I have an overcharged & autoloader Concord + huge rapid fire & corrosive MC on my FdL.
As long as there are 9 rounds left in the Concord, you can reload at station. Less than that and it is bugged (although I have not tried in the last two or three weeks). When this happens, just synthesis basic ammo, redock (or relog) and you can rearm.
