The Mamba is the fastest in it's class.
The only vessels that are faster in a full combat config are a few small pad ships with distributors three classes smaller (and correspondingly lower firepower) or certain light Clipper setups, which still have all the downsides of being Clippers.
Not uncommon for fast catamaran ferries to be faster than some speedboat classes. Tourist coaches are also faster than things like scout tanks.
The Mamba is not a sports car analog because sports cars are neither heavily protected, nor armed. The Mamba is a combat vessel built off a racing prototype...they armored it to nearly the extent of the FDL (70 hull rating) added extremely powerful shield emitters, and gave it the ability to power and cool five hardpoints, including a huge and two large ones.
I'm pretty sure if you covered a sports car in heavy armor and weapons it would slow down a bit.

Making an Orca as 'battle ready' as possible still is under the minimum mass for G5DDD thrusters, so it keeps the speed.
...wouldn't last too long against the Mamba, but certainly would have a good chance of running away...
