it's a sad day for lovers of the game any way you look at it.
If you're going to look at it this way, look at any company.
It's a sad century for consumers in that light. It's almost as if companies are trying to make a buck out of us by promising the world. This is not a Frontier issue, this is a consumerism issue. And since I like consuming I swallow it hook line and sinker myself.
Just this Monday I sat in a meeting where Marketing sold an application which I led the design off. While he was talking all I could think was: "That app can do that? Why didn't anyone tell me this? I need to remember this for next end of the year reviews, because some of my people are going to get a raise for introducing extra features while on a strict deadline. And a cut in salary for not telling me about it and risking that deadline". And did I go, "Excuse me Bjorn, but I think you'll find you're overselling some of the apps potential there"? Like hell. I smiled and nodded. And we got the contract.
Ziggy lied!
And if those customers aren't aware that we oversold our product, they were born yesterday.
Fact of the matter is, combat logging isn't high on Frontier's agenda, and for business purposes rightly so. If people think that this blurp in the media will have an impact, I really wish I was them. I'm far more cynical than that. People reading that will think the same thing I just outlined, because they too like being consumers. They line up each and every day to be severely knackered in the bum and will come back for more the next day. They may be talking a different talk, but if they'd walk that walk, capitalism as it exists today would be long gone.
