Animals in the wild - ingame pictures

Very cool, would love to see more!

I usually take shots of animals in zoo setting, but recently tried to make some more natural ones. I really like this Scimitar-Horned Oryx one, inspired of the real pictures of Oryxes in red sands. It can be a really pain tho, at first I wanted to include more of them, but it was really hard to coordinate so I just went with a single one, haha. Wish you a better cooperating animals! :D

Foxy, if you don't mind me using your oryx pic for my little project? Eventually imma upload them, maybe here or a separate thread(?)

Guess this ain't dedicated to me anymore😭🤣🤣🤣

No, kidding. I'm not haughty like that
:ROFLMAO: so many others got interest in the thread so I requested a change for a general high quality image thread. Of course still centered around the initial project

So the order of pictures:
  • Deluxe
  • Arctic
  • South America
  • Australia
  • Aquatic
  • Southeast Asia
  • Africa
  • North America
  • Europe
  • Wetlands
  • Conservation
  • Twilight
  • Base game - likely split into 4 sections or even by biome/continent to make it easier

Watch out you might catch a cold, wrap up and lets take a look at the arctic pack animals!

Arctic Pack: Dall Sheep

Now i have just returned from making a 6000 piece rocky mountain side that was the size of half the map  Dall sheep have been represented in summer tundra and winter snow. This is the new europe tundra biome skirt making wonders , the rocky mountain was copy paste done in like 30 minutes if anyone thought I hand-placed every single rock

I like it. Especially the ones without Snow but also the first one in the Snow. The Poses on that one are so perfect.
🙃 I hope at that Speed I'll still be able to help. Might get a new Job if I'll at least have Luck for once in my Life so maybe I can properly join in on this Project relatively soon. Would love to do the Dingo Pictures (not to be confused with one of the worst Animation Studios in Existence😂) if it shouldn't take too long to finally repair my Computer.
I'll have a Talk regarding the Job on Wednesday, so wish me Luck everyone 🙂

Ha I don't think I'll finish it any time soon considering I got 108 animals to go through - if I manage one per day that's 3.5 months of nonstop habitats 😅 Of course if you want to do the dingo pictures, sure I'll set aside a note for that. Anyways good luck on Wednesday!

Arctic Pack: Arctic Wolf

A vastly underused arctic animal makes way today with again two kinds of picture sets. The summer selection shows the harsh northern arctic in the summer where dry tundra can prove a challenge , meanwhile winter brings northern forests to life where the white coat of the wolf really shows its character. Again the dual purpose use of the new european tundra is working its wonders, i do wish there was a treeless tundra map to correctly portray the northern arctic

The new Antarctic Map is scientifically accurate so you could use that one. Don't know though if the Snow still melts sometimes. If it's completely accurate it should at least happen at the Coast during "Summer".
I wonder if they don't encounter any Trees in their Natural Habitat at all or just not many
Edit: googled it. They also encounter Trees in their Natural Habitat, so the Pictures are absolutely great👍
🤔 I think I might also do the ones for the King Penguin because I want to rebuild my antarctic Research Center again anyways now that we have a scientifically accurate Map

I think only the European tundra has the suitable dry tundra feel for accurately pulling off summer shots. It would be a bit weird to see snow capped mountains in a summer feel. The reference pictures of arctic wolves in the summer shows dry barren tundra with very few mountains , and of course winter forest seems the best overall option for winter to showcase the diverse range of the arctic wolf even how far north it is.

Oh for the pictures , send me a forum message (pm me) instead of just posting it here. It helps me greatly organise the order of this thread. For criteria when you are ready- null barriers, no visible buildings, research suitable natural landscapes and try to replicate it as best as you can. King penguin will be a hard one because you do not want the Antarctic, rather a sub Antarctic island like say the Falklands
I was originally planning either a diving shot of a pair of king penguin or a small colony of penguins of say the 300-500 penguin range

example of diverse habitat :

I think though you can't send Pictures in Private Messages for some Reason, so I could only tell you if I'm working on a specific Set of Pictures.

They live directly in the Antarctic too I think? My Plan was too recreate the Penguin Coast from the previous Version of my Research Center which would look pretty similar to the Picture.
I wish though we would have antarctic Plants instead of needing to use the Reindeer Lichen and Grass from the Australia Pack as Placeholders

Oh you can't send pics through messages? Ah that's a shame, alright let me know when the pics are ready. I can start the base game animals after arctic to allow you at least say a month or 2 to fix your computer. I'm sure your penguin design should be great, most likely people would want the penguins in a snowy setting compared to a drier climate where they can be found in summer. Basically all king penguins habitats I see in the game are snow setting

It turned out that the trashy Power Supply Unit in my Computer did cost way more than I've remembered so if I can send it back (10 Years Warranty despite the incredibly bad Quality of the Part) I can order a new one for way less Money and I might be able to get the Graphics Card to properly work again instead of buying a new one, so hopefully it won't take much Time anymore

Arctic Pack: Reindeer

One of the more iconic arctic animals that actually covers a vast range of habitats. Again we have a summer selection represneting the woodland caribou found in north american forests. Of course winter comes around and brings the festive reindeer to life yet again. This time the european temperate mountain map was used with a pine forest.

Arctic Pack: Polar Bear

The melting arctic, hard to represent ingame but a topic that should be looked at when discussing arctic animals. The animal most assoicated with melting ice? the polar bear. Lots of submerged ice caps and a huge water pool (260,000m2 🤣) mimics the growing threats to this bear. If anyone feels this is too depressing for habitat sign boards, i can do happier themed pictures if wanting.

Thats the arctic pack covered and best start on the base game animals since its a big lot to get through. Most people will probably want the base game done asap considering not everyone has the dlc

If anyone thinks this feels too depressing, let me know and i can get some winter wonderland pictures for the polar bear.
