Base Game Asia - Bengal TIger

Thanks to @dinosaurchestra again for help on this project.

Visiting south asia again with a vast range of animals to see - this time the bengal tiger makes an appearance. A nice tropical setting expands the asian habitats where we will see habitats from the top of snowy mountain tops to warm shallow rivers.

Base Game Asia - Indian Rhino

Contining in india we have the indian rhino. A vast difference one may picture the typical african rhino. Here the indian rhino is often pictured in rich green forests and grasslands - a large tropical forest with lots of drinn grass have been used to replicate a suitable habitat for the rhinos.

Base Game Asia - Bornean Orangutan

Heading to more tropical land in the forest of southeast asia would be the orangutan. Shame we dont have brachiation to see some great swinging action so sitting in a tree is what we have. One of the more smaller habitats in the series so far to concentrate on the forest rather than an expansive grassland like say the rhinos

The new Antarctic Map is scientifically accurate so you could use that one.
Well, sort of, because the entire map is covered in grass. In reality, only less than 2% of the continent can support any form of plant life, so a better way to go would have been using rock/soil/sand for the default terrain. To be fair this probably wasn't intentional to begin with, as the game's default paint is long grass when terraforming. So, if they were using heightmaps and such to generate the base map, the default terrain paint automatically generated afterwards would have been long grass.

Base Game Asia - Chinese Pangolin

Alright lets resume this project but with a few tiny changes for now. Due to the huge list of animals to get through i am changing the method which the ansel group people recommend - place the animal in the habitat then mould the picture around it rather than the other way around. Also putting the diorama mode to good use is handy for small forest pictures. Also i am aiming for one single high quality image rather than spending hours getting multiple for a single animal

Inspiration here was a chinese forest with the pangolin on a broken tree branch. Lack of suitable ground cover for these forests but bracken and ferns do the job quite well

Base Game Asia - Japanese Macaque

Ansel returns! I worked out a few tweaks to make really nice pics again without insane brightness. The method for this was pretty annoying, get a macaque to sit at the right height on the ground, pause the game and cover with water - near an hour of countless attempts of this. Now the inspiration for this picture is the macaques in the winter hot springs in japan
