That being the case Michael, if we are purchasing the "FULL GAME" again, why then do we not get access to another commander slot?

I've not kept up with this thread, it's too damned fast, but I think character slots need to be addressed. I'm not the only CMDR to have bought a 2nd account to make up for the absence of slots and I think it's a bit rough to expect players to have to pay twice for content.

An account needs a 2nd slot, or a way of linking the two separate accounts, in such a way that only one account can be played at a time.

since the topic is growing like mad I will post again:

Horizons - it's a separate game to the existing Elite? Do my commander transfers to it? I dont get it...

New players get the game + the full expansion for the same price I paid for the base game alone, and you expect me to shell out another $60? Really, frontier?

Yep i agree with you after reading, this thread it seems like (and i hope i am wrong) that new players get the ED plus The Expansion, and asking already exisiting players to pay another 49.99€, Okay you get the 12.50€? discount but thats still 37,49€ for the expansion alone, that doesn't seem like greart worth to me compared to a new player buying the game right now

Yes..no...maybe? Yes its an expansion, but you don't have to have it.

Not on about if I have to have it or not. I thought I had paid for ED plus future expansions when buying early in PB.. If they are labelling this as a separate game, then that's.. well.. make your own mind up.

A bit expensive for me, I'll wait for complete list of the upcoming contents for this Horizon season pass

Okay, after calming down a bit let me say this:

I really need more information before I even ponder purchasing Horizons. How exactly will planet landings work and are future planet landing features (i.e.: planets withs atmosphere, gas giants, earthlikes) already included in this single purchase, or will I have to play again for earthlike planets and such? You somewhat expect us to buy a pig in a poke at this point. ;)

It's simply wise to restrain yourself at this point- I'm sure in the coming weeks/months there will be much more information available about what we can ultimately expect from the expansion. The thing won't even be out until the end of the year. If you want an uninformed opinion (mine ;)) I'd assume and expect that the PL feature will be updated semi frequently to include other kinds of planet types (earthlikes/water worlds/gas giants, etc).. they will come when they're ready.

Personally, I'm feeling a lot less jumpy about snapping up the expansion pass when I did, but there will always be an element of risk with preordering anything. Save your money, keep up with the forums and website, and stay tuned!

:)

...it's really not hard, it's an expansion, so no it's not a new game, it'll be added seamlessly to your current game so yes you use the same commander and same account. It's really not hard to understand jeez.

Ok been trying to read as fast as this thread is created but can't keep up so apologies if this has been asked but:

I have Elite on steam same as my 2 boys

When will it be available for pre order on steam?

Will the Expansion Pass be also available on steam?

BTW - one boy ran out the room squealling and the other just dropped in a chair with his jaw on the floor, we are all still grinning like mad so well done David and Team on that.

You can get it directly from FD and it will works with your steam ED.

i agree, it does sound like this is the case, i paid £50 for beta, and now if i have to buy beta horizons as well, thats a total of £90 (with £10 discount, but new players can now buy it all, with beta access for for £49. doesn't sound right some how.
But again i suppose i have had almost a year pf play extra, so maybe depends on how you look at it...

This is exactly what GW2 did with HoT, and that got messy for Anet. I haven't kept track of HoT, I lost interest in the game and uninstalled it. The saving grave in this instance, for me, is the Lifetime Pass; I do consider that to be good value (I did the same with LOTRO).
