Another solution to ganker problem

There's a whole host of cmdr's who simply don't want to invest in the engineering and skillsets necessary to fly competently against other actual cmdr's.

Although there's multiple game modes, private groups, and what have you in order to avoid being on the wrong end of a PVP encounter these cmdr's instead choose to fly in open, knowing the potential risks, and then come onto this forum whinging about how open should be neutered like PG's and Solo.

Totally irrational behavior driven by unreasonably selfish immaturity.

Sadly Open is still only membership unlimited co-op mode. Open/PVE mode and these complaints would go away. Of course that means that unwilling targets for gankers would go away too.

I do not follow you. Please clarify.

Steve
Heat management is better (and in general due to lower hw requirements higher FPS, less stuttering etc).
Some hardpoints have also issues on 4.0 (not deploying. not firing) and I've the feeling that ships stall more in 4.0 vs 3.8

Roger roger.

But, how will the numbers stack in legacy and live?

What this game needs is hollow triangle freighter NPCs with an api hook into Alexa. Spawn half a dozen of those on waking in. To the extent any chat takes place, Alexa can hold up her side of the conversation. CMDRs who like attacking radically weaker hollow triangles will get their fix. The game will appear more populated, and actual pirates will get more targets: everyone wins!

I mean this again points to the fact that it's not an issue.

Presumably unwilling targets would be a target only once?

Therefore unless there is a mighty churn of new players who play in Open once before quitting to block or PG/Solo the majority of targets in Open are willing.

Meaning that this whole thread is a non-issue.

Block just blocks a single ganker at time. You'll need to populate block list. Meaning either meeting ganker or doing osint to pre populate blocklist with usual neverdowells.

You do not need to block every ganker, just those that are most likely to connect with you. Depending on region and your connection that might be relatively small number, or not.
