Or, if there are gankers at the AXCZ get in your combat-built FDL, wing up with others, and have a good time blowing them up.
If im in an ax cz, i'm there to do the ax cz stuff, not to entertain gankers.
So i will either ignore them, or block them
And if enough people block them, they will eventually get to get their own not-so-live open experience, followed by the mandatory cries for open only this and open only that.
and the loop will be, once again, complete
You are still kidding yourselfYou can also join some lawful PVP discords and put out an SOS; they'll be more than happy to take out some gankers.
Once I toyed with kind of thought about how to have mechanic that kind of allow and disallow PVP at same time. Lets say player has PVP toggle. At "On" position things work out as they work currently. At "Off position" aggressor is sent to separate instance and commander's ship is replaced by cloned NPC. Pixels go boom, ganker is happy (or not), non-interested in PVP player is happy. Agression defined by firing interdictor or weapon against commander. You are still kidding yourself
If i can evade the gankers, i dont need to pop on pvp discord. Why should i waste my time?
If i cannot, they'll destroy me before i can even pop on that pvp discord, so again, what's the point?
In both situations they made me waste my gaming time
So, as far as i'm concerned, as long the pvp is not tied with the game ojbectives and it's nothing more than a badly stitched layer over the pve core - it's a waste of time.
Not saying pvp events or even organic pvp between willing participants is not fun.
But for anyone that has absolutely no interest in pvp, any pvp interaction is a waste of time - and it doesnt even matter how that interaction concludes (me escaping or me getting the rebuy screen)

So "intrinsic", in this game, that no-one needs to play with them, if they don't want to.Killers are an intrinsic part of any community just as explorers, achievers & socialisers are.

That's called Solo or PG's.Once I toyed with kind of thought about how to have mechanic that kind of allow and disallow PVP at same time.

if all the current ones methods (direct PvP) were banned or otherwise eliminated there will still be griefers & killers, just of a different kind.
Any examples of what a "killer" who can't kill other players' avatars might manifest as?Here's the part immediately preceding the sentence you quoted:
Sure, a BGSer.Any examples of what a "killer" who can't kill other players' avatars might manifest as?
Because sometimes i play in Open and we have freedom of speech here in blighty. This thread is about open, why are you here?
It takes no skill whatsoever to escape a gank when flying a transport ship.
There is no PvP community, just gankers, otherwise CQC would be positively buoyant. Not really.
This is barely static in the PVP community.
You can also join some lawful PVP discords and put out an SOS; they'll be more than happy to take out some gankers.
PvP has nothing to do with CQC. Completely different. There is no PvP community, just gankers, otherwise CQC would be positively buoyant.
If you think attacking trading and exploration ships is PvP then ......... well i don't know what to say really.
O7
And it will be worse in 3.8 now that CGs are gone as a distracting focal point..."The beginner engineers in general are to be treated carefully" Tells you everything you need to know about gankers and how they ruin games right there. A pathetic bunch, and worse, are those who defend them.
And it will be worse in 3.8 now that CGs are gone as a distracting focal point...
Actually, it's also the developers problem. In every game, gankers always lead to less players, which equals less money. And that is your problem, nobody else's.
