Very much thisAnd no matter what others may say elsewhere, the idea that moderators operate without input and instruction from the CM team, and that our actions are not reviewed are frankly laughable.

No, that's a waste of time. They don't respond. If you have an issue with the rules on this forum then feel free to take it up with Frontier via the process outlined in the forum rules.
They do if they need to. But if you don't want to do that then go make things up on INARA again then I guess. No, that's a waste of time. They don't respond.
Last time I got a forum warning it was for posting a meme in the same thread that one of the CM team had posted a meme on the same subject. It was very "rules for thee".And no matter what others may say elsewhere, the idea that moderators operate without input and instruction from the CM team, and that our actions are not reviewed are frankly laughable.
No, they don't know in advance who will be upset and who won't. Because getting upset about ganking in a videogame isn't normal. Many people don't get upset at all, and some actually welcome the challenge. Gank evasion, i.e. intentionally taking an unarmed ship to a ganker hotspot and surviving, is a valid play style that requires gankers as antagonists. NPCs, even the new hyper-aggressive Thargoids, are no replacement. I currently spend most of my in-game time flying an Apex-style Adder in open for passenger missions between Shinrarta Dezhra and surrounding systems. Each return to Jameson Memorial takes me straight into ganker territory. This is the sort of gameplay I enjoy, and any proposal to "solve the ganker problem" has the potential to ruin the game for me.So they know they are upsetting people by attacking them, but do it anyway, so know you know why they are called gankers.

The whole premise of this thread is wrong. Gankers are not a problem and require no solution. Gankers are a challenge, just like Thargoids, but smarter, less predictable, more social and less repetitive. You can fight them, evade them, avoid crossing paths with them, join them, learn tricks from them. They have the capacity and variety to keep the game interesting long after everything else, every other activity, has worn off and become boring.
I don't need your consent to express my opinion in a public forum after you expressed yours. There's no point in quoting me looking for a response, I clearly said I am exiting this discussion, it appears now I have to exit the entire thread, it will probably be closed soon anyway, done here!
Anyone who deliberately intends to ruin anyone else's gameplay by bullying has no place here and you should be ashamed to stand up for them.Gankers are not a problem and require no solution

Having tools to mitigate is not an excuse for their behavior.Use solo or group & 100% eliminate any risk of direct PvP. Disable system chat & completely remove any possibility of seeing chat you don't want to read, you can block and/or report individual players too to tailor your experience.
The game already provides these tools, there is no opportunity for direct bullying if the player doesn't want to be exposed to that.
Your reaction here is excessive, people can take personal responsibility for their own mental wellbeing in this game, even though I don't use those tools I wouldn't have bought it if those options weren't available.
We are more exposed to potential bullying on this (child friendly) forum than we are in the game. Play your own way, let them play theirs.

Defending yourself is part of the game, whether it's against NPC pirates, gankers, or the latest breed of Thargoids. The game gives you all the tools you need to fight back, escape, or avoid danger altogether. Every ship, even the puny Sidewinder, can be outfitted and engineered to become gank-resilient. Besides, you can earn credits even in a fragile ship. No one is ruining your game by playing it the way it was meant to be played.Anyone who deliberately intends to ruin anyone else's gameplay by bullying has no place here and you should be ashamed to stand up for them.

Defending against NPCs and players is very different. The latter is much harder.
Saying that the victim should have been in solo, had better shields, a better ship or skills is simply victim blaming.
Open is a shared space. Accept that others might not want to play the PvP game and go arrange fights with someone else. Leave those who want a co-operative game in peace.

It seems you haven't met our new visitors yet. You'd better get prepared because these new Thargoids are angry and might soon be all over the core systems. You won't evade their interdictions. When they pull you, it's either fight or run -- or die. The experience is actually not much different from a gank. In fact it is so similar, it might be intentionally so. If you can evade a Thargoid attack, you'll be able to evade a gank, too. The countermeasures are the same.Defending against NPCs and players is very different. The latter is much harder.
The aforementioned will be waiting for you in solo, too. If you haven't hardened your ships yet, now is the time to get started. The alternative is to avoid crossing their paths. This of course works for gankers, too.Saying that the victim should have been in solo, had better shields, a better ship or skills is simply victim blaming.
The bugs arnt camping Engineers and are easy to counter, do SFNs work on Gankers or can we get a modified one?It seems you haven't met our new visitors yet.
