Any teamwork driven CMDRs in Valheim?

Kids will love it...Minecraft with Vikings? A winner right there...

Mac isn't Scottish by the way, he's a Geordie :D

Well, was almost right. Its just across the border. But i guess my ability at identifying accents has got worse having been out of the country so long. The main accent i'm used to hearing these days is Runglish.

Anyway, i ended up buying the game. Will check it out later.

Well, let's hope Chris Roberts doesn't see this game or how successful it has become, otherwise its a whole new boatload of features CIG will be promising for Star Citizen.

I just wanted to voice my concerns and spread awareness as I didn't really know myself, but everything in this game tends to disappear lol My dropped items disappeared. My tombstone disappeared. My luxurious overanalyzed Great Hall and everything in it disappeared. Whole worlds disappear.

It sounds like you guys are having no problems but this has erased... a digital representation of ~100 hours of time? A chunk of that is idle time but it's the other kind of time spent that kinda kicks me in the pooper.

Going to take some time off till they address these IMO massive bugs. A shame. I miss it already sigh

Bug tracker for those interested:

Good luck out there, CMDRs o7

That's a shame. Not sure it would bother me at the moment - all my camps are pretty basic, I wouldn't mind getting to start again ;)

I've only just got my first pick-axe, so a fair way to go.

Building seems to be a pain. How do you guys make multi-story buildings? External ladders? The roof requirement drove me a bit nuts.

Is drops random? I tried killing boars but leather scraps were so rare.

I use internal ladders and it takes two missing floor pieces to have room to pass through. I found the core wood from pine trees makes excellent supports. I can get three stories, all blue stability on the first floor and green all the way to the sky.

I miss that building :wahhh: :D

I tried... but... I.... I can't stop AARGH But I love it :)

No no you are putting the cart before the horse and guilty of lack of faith in Lord Crobbler!

The ideas in this game and all others are already in SC, they are there! They just need to finesse the pipelines to deliver it.

I slew Eikhtyr and a troll, several skeletons and a ghost. I'm not a friend of the camera in combat - I think I prefer hunting in 1st person. Found a copper patch and I guess that is where the next set of progression starts.
There is this dungeon grave - does stuff respawn there? I'm thinking about moving and building a bigger house. Current one is just fixed up preexisting hut. I'm running out of storage space.

OK, I saw fishse. Now pls tell me I just haven't found out how to catch them yet.
You have to find the merchant inside the Black Forest and buy a fishing rod with bait...he appears in completely random locations on each map seed...since the maps are procedurally generated. Once you've discovered him, he'll remain in that spot though. I found a mini cheat to locating him...I have a map seed called 'VALHEIM' in which I know the location. I can log out of my current map, log in to the seeded one and spawn straight at the merchant. When you initially spawn in to the VALHEIM map seed, it places you at the altar stones...see pic below. It's just a matter then of running or sailing down there. The map appears covered in fog as usual...but sailing down the coast until you see the merchant icon is how I found it...the VALHEIM seed map works for everyone.

You need to go and visit the delves however if it says troll cave when you enter I would exit out again. Respawns are an interesting question as officially the wiki says flint and berries but the wildlife does as well. Many of the mobs respawn too but the loot in delves does not seem too.

You need to enter the bronze age next :)

Yes, this gave me hope and an excuse to don my troll skin suit and give it another go. I now back up my files too so nothing will be too far gone if things just go poof again.

Gosh, I hope there is some sea-going stuff in. I've restarted like 5 times - one of which saw me unlock float. I hear there is more boats later on.

I guess there isn't that much in the ocean biome now but it's "interesting" enough. Stay close to the edge of the shore (not the ocean label on your map) at night. That's my only advice :)

Regarding the merchant; he is a curious fellow. There are only one of these dwarves in every seed, somewhere in the Black Forest biome, but it could be ANYWHERE. For some he's in the forest next to the spawn, some he's literally on the edge of the world. I guess pray to RNOdin or use a known seed. I found mine not too far away in seed "VALHALLA:"

In the burial chambers I've not seen any respawns of the skellies/ghosts but thankfully the glowing mushrooms respawn, 240mins I think. I sure do have a taste for those Yellow Mushrooms!!!!

And yes, many map markers. I'd do the same in Elite if I could! All mushrooms, berries, houses, chambers, caves, and any rich hunting grounds are noted. It has served me well and I highly recommend doing the same.
