ANNOUNCEMENT April Update - Coming 23 April 2019

How about adding a recent destinations tab to the navigation panel, when doing runs for Operation IDA we are often going back to the same system which is probably outside of the range of the local ones. If you kept track of the last 10 systems say that you had plotted a route to, it would avoid having to set bookmarks in the galaxy map. You just select the system name from recent destinations and it would plot a route to it (just like your car satnav does, also how about being able to set a home system and have that be selectable in there as well)

The idea of having "software slots" instead sounds interesting. But what would be the incentive for people to remove the training wheels for other things? I mean, what software could there be? I can only come up with those auto-pilot thingies and limpet controllers. Considering how limited use limpets see outside of mining and the fuel rats, i don't think that limpets would really replace the autopiloting software on many ships.

That being said, i also think that not adding new slots, but instead having 3 slots for software, which can be autopiloting software of limpet software, would still be an improvement. It would avoid the obvious power creep of the given upgrade, even if the incentive to replace the autopilot software would be very limited.
Well, I'm the kind of player that might carry some limpets around "just in case" but so far I've been hampered by the big and very specialised controllers I would then have to take with me. I do carry collectors in my materials farming ship, but that's it. If I had some software slots with no other use, I'd certainly have various limpet programs in them, and few limpets in my cargo rack "just in case".

What is the size of the third Optional Internal slot on medium/large ships? it has been asked several times in this thread
