Patch Notes Update April Update - Patch Notes

Frontiers are aliens like goids, but frontier feeds with salt, tons of salt.
Each subsequent patch brings players to greater despair, more salt on the forum.
Looks like they are so greedy that they had to add seeker extra boost.
I just wonder is there anyone who ask for that?

Nobody: “please give packhounds, seekers, and frags the most powerful experimental effect ever”
Fdev: “Ok, we got this”

Sounds good cant wait to start my new pc account. Going to wait till the 24th but check out all the new stuff on ps4 been on that platform for a long time cant wait to start a freash game on pc with all the new stuff.
Don't do that !
I'm working and farming an account from ps4 since one mouth to bring my chieftain to pc. And when I am on the last point of my do to list before being able to play again they just said "no you won't"

Yeah no.
One pellet is enough to apply the effect, and frags are the easiest to hit a small agile target with. It's the same principle of using a shotgun against birds rather than a rifle.
The effective range of frags is very low, and if frags become a ubiquitous meta then you have to look at the zero pip flight behavior of all ships, not just a theoretical uneven engagement where only one side has an agility/speed counter. And the other side doesn't have any of the common counters to frags/turrets.

All fun aside, I'm pretty delighted regarding the paltry list of bug fixes (especially when that minor DBX change gets top billing). I've invested a lot of time and money into the game, and I really love the game buried under the bugs, so it's not as simple as "go play something else." Though I suspect that's exactly what I'll end up doing if this update truly ignores all the bugs affecting my gameplay. Point is, people get emotional about things they invest in and care about. If I see a stranger's truck rusting out due to lack of care, what's that to me? If my own vehicle starts rusting out, well that is indeed upsetting. Even if my mechanic puts pretty new tires on (the new trading system is pretty dope, as the young folk say), the rust still ruins my mood.

But I appreciate your enthusiasm. Heck, I was just like you, once. Don't let me and the others dampen your spirits.
Alas, they read your posts all too closely .......

You complained about ADC boosting, they fix it with an engineering "balance pass." I lay the blame for this upon you.

Please be careful what you wish for.

Effective range means nothing when it takes one fragment to apply the effect. People aren't going to be running all-frag builds, they're going to use frags as utility to make opponents sit still.

Very low... compared to hitscan? Frag effectiveness is average to what you'll be firing at anyway.

I totally welcome our new "boost-killing" weapons. If it were up to me, only small and medium fighters would be able to boost. So blame away, I wear this badge with pride :D

If you use/waste drag on frags you are agreeing to cut your sustained frag DPS in half while being close enough to the target that you lose your only defense against Pacs for instance. I mean, if someone wants to try to CC me with wimpy drag frags, please try it ;)

The drag frag won't be a DPS weapon, it will be a utility to stop you from evading everything else I'm now going to be throwing at you. You will be in a permanent 0-pip state without the ability to boost, so you will eat every single PA I throw at you until you die or wake out and you won't be able to do anything about it.

You're going to get hit. You wont be able to boost. Your pips will act as if they are at 0 with a 5 second cooldown.

Speed wont matter if someone can match your speed and catch you. After that Frag DPS is the highest DPS in the game.

Once you are hit you will continue to be hit repetitively and nuked until dead. Premium exists too remember.

Ziljan, youre wrong buddy. And people without any experience in how to engineer their ship is going to be more screwed than you are, thats like 95% of this player base right now cause HUUR I DUN NEED TO PVP I HAVE MODES.

This is a bad change by itself. It needs to be rolled back, or other changes to defensive and other offensive modules to complement it.

High end pvpers were already nuking people in under 10 seconds. I took out a vette in 7 seconds before this change. Can you imagine that guy after this change?

It already wasnt fair. Now its even worse.

Drag has never been the main damage dealer on frags/pacifiers. Since the eng pip changes, drag has been used to control a target under focus.

Then it cancels out. If everyone is frag locked then the core flying properties of ships becomes more relevant. So it's not a death sentence, it's just a Nerf to permaboost and maybe to shield boosters. Which I think many people will agree needed to happen, but once it comes, every one finds some lame excuse to maintain the status quo.

When the AutoCruise was announced and demonstrated to work only as far as the blue zone of supercruise speed, I jokingly commented that this was to improve Pirating as a career. Now that the boost killer engineering mod is to be introduced, I'm beginning to believe it's true ! 😰
