Patch Notes Update April Update - Patch Notes

My Hyperspace Dethrottle doesn't work if you have your joystick throttle anything but centred :( way to many start drops until I worked that out

edit: wait a minute - that mean it's bugged? eh? Server returned Error 568ml - need more beer

Getting zapped by thargoids just as I enter super cruise and being left stranded in space with no control, having to exit game and rejoin. Four times so far, just unlucky I guess /c:

Training wheels to show newbies what they need to do. Once they've got it down then they can remove those modules.

I could be wrong but the SCA seems to be saving me a minute or maybe two per trip here onsome trade trips, so it's definitely staying in on time grounds alone - PC/Hotas+kbd+mouse

edit: clarifying - time saving is
hurtle towards destination at 100%
select SCA in nav panel
hit 75% keybind at 0.7 or 0.6
SCA engages
SCA takes you to drop much faster than the old way, assumes: nothing in way, no gravity well problems

Performance drop for me, no reason for it... used to get 144+fps everywhere with some dips in a res...

Playing in solo, something's not right. 80-100 fps in stations, always used to get 144+

1440p, maxed out settings.

Something is chugging the frametimes.

I think consoles are affected too. I feel a performance degradation on stations for xbox one x.

Edit: Even outside stations the game feels more sluggish now.

If Supercruise Assist is saving you time, then great. Do however be aware that a mildly experienced pilot will do the trip faster on full throttle until it's time to "ride the 6", and a truly experienced pilot will save even more time by arcing out of the system plane to minimise supercruise's mass drag.

Nope, that's what I do anyways, although I occasionally pull a hard spiral in at almost 100% if I'm being chased by an interdictor. I have 4000hrs+, maybe 5k now

SCA seems faster as there's little gradual slowing in the 0.6 area, just a hburtle toward the station (assumes clear run at it) then an accurate drop

This is in a Cutter, haven't tried anything else yet

I've noticed a few bugs, but not as many as I was expecting.

Outside of a few dubious balance changes and increased automation that I strongly suspect will be abused by botters, this update seems pretty solid.

Yup combining manual and assist like that is very viable and if that floats your boat, go for it!

Oh, and another one :

I thought the "DSS - Planets not yet mapped will render as fully mapped" bug was already fixed (?)

Well, it's still right there...

7 people vs the rest of the community? wow.

Although...

The problem affects any player in Open that builds to survive a PvP encounter, it is a significant balance swing in favour of those that equip the drag special effect, essentially everyone will want/need to fit at least a small frag turret, limiting player agency.. IIRC Open is the most popular mode, it affects more than just those pointing it out.

Joking aside, I think I discovered what was causing it. If you exit out of the DSS before your probes completely map it, it'll bug the others in the system when the probes finally do catch up. Since I've started waiting to close it until after the mapped status updates on the DSS hud, I haven't had a problem.

Also, the previous background menu seems to still be in the game and drawing in the background. I saw it flash briefly when I exited the game.

I dont think exiting is the problem , I just watched a close moon turn blue as soon as the probes finished mapping its neighbour
