As long as Goon panic seems to be going strong may as well inform

He means warning about goons is panic apparently. That isn't panic Noir. Just keeping the forum informed as to what is and will be happening.

I'm not afraid of them, I don't think anyone is. Just damned wary.

I for one would like to welcome our new Goon overlords.

(But seriously, I don't think "power blocks" are really going to be a huge issue when you're limited to 32 players per instance. From what I saw in EvE, Goonswarm was an asset to the game since it brings a stable player base and adds some damn interesting player interactions. Just don't fall for the recruitment scams people. LOL!)

The only thing to worry about Goonlols is that they smell something awful.

Don't let one into your ship - no amount of Magic Tree's will get rid of the stench ;)

Their metagame is already being played, albeit badly and by amateurs. I expect they will put a bit more effort in soon™.

Goon, 4chan... have fun griefing and manipulating in a game where I can flick a switch and only play with people I know and trust :p

Also, excuse my ignorance but are the Goons in Eve the same guys as the "Goon" outfit on Planetside 2? If so, at least in PS2 they're not causing any trouble really. Due to their size they're pretty much leading the zerg around but they're not doing any griefing in PS2. If those are different guys, then forget I said anything ;)

There's quite a huge difference between wary and taring and feathering someone who wants to start a PvP group and there are quite a few people running around seeming to stir the pot.

And niet I am not goon, I merely warn of their coming to glorious homeland...-pockets an envelope from his KEIB handler-

Look out!

I've just seen a man in a cobra leaving Chango Dock wearing a bumble bee costume!

That's clearly a star citizen who bought the game on reddit, with the exclusive zero-g-mimetic-jacket addon. With LTI of course.

Come on people, you do not have much to worry about.

The EVE goons have all gotten older and are vested to heavily in EVE to leave. Goons coming to E:D are a new breed of happy, peace loving npc shooting goonies that just want to make friends and fly space ships.

Why can't we just be friends? ;)

Cause you like 'Swarmin'..

Higby's Heroes? Well considering there are thousands of Goons, chances are there are some cross over from Planetside 2 to Eve. Just because a goon played EVE doesn't mean we are evil. We are just misunderstood.

Goons under the bed?! PANIC!!!

In Perth, and apparently elsewhere too, "goon" is cheap cask wine.

Comes in a cardboard box, with a silver bag inside it, and an easy-to-pour rubber tap thing sticking out of the box.

So every time you lot go on about goon agents, goon agendas and goon whatevers, I just can't help but picture the dodgy goon drinkers hanging out in the local parks, or getting sozzled at home out of the box.

Heck, look, there's even a wiki entry referring to it!!

And, for your viewing/reading pleasure...

Goon of Fortune

This is a game that is meant for the outdoors. Goons are those silver bags of wine that come in boxed wine. You take four such goons and hang them upside down on a circular washing line. Everybody stands in a circle below the washing line and spin the line. Everybody has to shout “goon of fortune” and when it stops the people under the goons have to drink directly from it for 10 seconds. If someone fails to drinks or vomits they are out of the game.

Confirming the goon panic is strong - I got negative rep and was called a" goon sockpuppet" in the comment just for mentioning Eve (and ironically mentioning how terribly boring blob warfare is in the same post).

I used to play Eve for 9 years, but whilst I don't have a categoric "Grr Goons" attitude, I never found myself fighting on the same side with them.

Some people are just paranoid, I guess.

The goons won't have much fun with Elite Dangerous, because as others have said, it is more focused on the single player. Alliances come from friends getting together than the formation of corporations.

Star Citizen, on the other hand, encourages the formation of guilds and corporations, and you just know that goonswarm are already in there, just waiting! It's not as if those creating these guilds are cautious either. They let anyone join them. I've already turned down about half a dozen invites to join one group or another. If I was a goon, I wouldn't believe my luck!
