So i went ahead, even if it felt like a hard choice as i could have got the AspX at the time too! I like the look of it and it does fly nice, if a little slow (which i will try to improve with better/lighter equipment as i upgrade it over time, and with opportunity). Combat is not something I do, so it is set up as a 50t cargo hauler with Exploration as a secondary role. It feels like being worth my while to engineer it, not something i have done before, but the limited internals vs the AspX make it more vital here i think?
I run it windowed in 1600x900 and fps capped at 60 to match my screen refresh rate, and it mostly manages to keep that, even running Odyssey, but will fluctuate into the 40's in a busy concourse scene, and probably best to stay out of the FPS combat on foot part of the game! Space and planet flying keeps a stable 50-60 fps with very little slow down, but yet to get into a busy asteroid field.
Maybe it does look a little better than the AspX? The lines are more sleek due to the lack of rudder fins on the back and the engine jet placement looks a little better? Still for it's size (M) vs (S) the Cobra MkIII has better performance for the kind of build i like to fly (Trader/Explorer/Runner), so i will see what i can boost stats wise with better equipment and engineering.
Could be a great stealth ship perhaps? I read it runs colder than most others and the mat black paint is nicely done on the Asp Scout
