Autumn DLC Speculation

This would be my dream Autumn DLC. We get the new number 1 animal from the meta wishlist, another South American monkey, an Asian exhibit (the only thing Asia is really lacking), the red deer to match the decoration pieces we have, more Australian representation, a porcupine with a brand new rig and animations for the quills, the popular wolverine as the big predator of the pack and the lovely raccoon as the first climbing animal for North America.

I hope it's similar in theme to the Wetlands pack, that is, not held down by one particular biome that's in game. Forests (animals from all types of forests), drylands (animals from all types of grasslands, deserts and scrublands) or islands (animals from islands around the world) would all be really good themes that could add a nice variety of animals from around the world.

Also sidenote, I 100% believe we won't ever see aviaries and am now hoping that the scenery dlc this winter is a Nocturnal House pack, which I think would be great if done well.

I wouldn't want the red deer, it's the exact same zoo niche occupied by the fallow deer and not exotic enough, for me, to warrant a spot. The other choices are all good for a general forests theme though. Two procyonids in one pack is probably not happening but I'd love to see a coati in that spot instead.

I think there's a good chance we do get a nocturnal pack and a lot of forest animals have overlap there; a lot of wallabies, wombats, raccoons, coatis, fossa etc.

I am quite sure that the next pack would highlight Tassie as the flagship animal just like it was with capybara and leopard right now but it could go in many different ways depending on the leading theme and and supposed continuation of the DLC’s through the next year.

This would be a great pack. It's got three hugely requested, and the rest are all still popular requests - not a "surprise" animal in the batch, which at this point is fine.

As for the exhibit - yes please. I've been saying for over 30 months now - I can't believe we don't have a cobra in the game. I think I'm more surprised that I have to continue to say it at this point.

This pack would be an instant buy for me. At least one animal from each continent with great taxonomic diversity.

In this new latest DLC, 3 out of 4 animals occupy the same niche as other anatomically identical animals in the game and exoticism is a personal matter. Red deer would be a perfect choice for a Forest animal pack to which I would add the wild boar.

Nearly perfect!
The only thing I would change is: put the Porcupine in the Grassland pack and here we need a bird, maybe a Capercallie

I admit I had doubts about the red deer, but I wanted to include at least one large animal since the pack had many small animals. I was considering a bear, the wisent or the red deer, but I decided to include the deer because:
-we already have sings and statues for it.
-imagine all deer doing the new chorus animation with their magnificent voices.
-at least in Europe, deer are considered the king of the forest, so they must be in a forest pack.
-it would be cool to be able to have a mixed habitat with several types of deer.

However I understand your opinion 👍

I thought of putting the kiwi instead of the porcupine, but I thought the porcupine was much more common in zoos and would add an African representative to the pack.

Woodland animals pack
Tasmanian Devil
Malayan Porcupine
Fossa
Red River Hog (or) Red Deer
Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo
Common Wombat
Lar Gibbon
Ex. King Cobra (or) Jackson's Chameleon

hoping that the scenery dlc this winter is a Nocturnal House pack
I'm almost expecting something like this. Since there's no good way to include an actual nocturnal house gameplay feature (not without altering a bunch of existing animals in the base game and subsequent DLC), I can imagine it being an animal pack. A lot of highly-requested species would fit; Tasmanian devil, kiwi, fossa, African crested porcupine, etc.

My idea for Autumn pack to bring awareness about rapidly disappearing rainforests, including its fauna from all around the world.
Featuring highly requested sloth, tree kangaroo, river hog and primates.
2 animals from southeast asia, 1 from congo, 1 from madagascar, 1 from central america, 3 from south america
Pack made in mind with 4 + 3 + 1 model for animal packs.

It is a nice pack but I am personally the opinion that one bigger animal is missing. Perhaps by replacing one of the monkeys with the sloth bear? I am not sure if sloth bears are really living in typical rainforests but according to wikipedia it is an animal living in the forests.

No no, monkeys are precious and important. I thought about including something like guar, banteng or anoa in place of muntjac, but we just got water buffalo.

Tbh i think thats a strenght of the pack. We need more small to medium sized animals and this pack delivers on that with a nice ballance

Muntjac would be nice as a small deer species and with its teeth it also has this special look. But as I said before. Your pack would be really great all in all 🙂. Especially with the red river hog which belongs to my personal top 5

Edit: I just think that one bigger animal would be good for attraction of this pack for the broader mass of players which are not hardcore animal fans like us.

I really like this idea, and would love to get a pack like this.
Ocelot and muntjac would likely be the 'less popular' additions of this pack, but cool inclusions anyway. The one animal type I feel would be missing in such a pack is a ground-dwelling bird, but I'm not so sure what could reasonably be included, as most of the missing birds that could be implemented with the current mechanics can be found in grasslands biomes instead.
I would love a coati as well, but suppose they could be added in different packs later.

I understand your reasoning, but I do think the sloth would take the spot of the 'mass appeal animal' here, much like the capybara did in the wetlands pack without being that big an animal.

No, I'll I have to disagree with you there.

The Amur leopard is a big animal, feline, cold weather, Asia, endangered. The same as the Amur tiger, so you're right there.

The Przewalski's horse is a big animal, equid, cold weather Asia, endangered. Unique.

The gibbon is a medium animal, ape, tropical, Asia (islands), endangered. Somewhat unique in that it represents a new taxonomical family, but a similar niche to the orangutans.

The oryx is a big animal, bovid, arid, Africa (North Africa), endangered. Unique again.

The red deer and fallow deer are the exact same niche for the game, that being large animal, deer, temperate, Europe, walkthrough, common/lease concern. That's what I mean when I say occupying the same niche. And I personally don't want two animals for that niche, it feels bloated for me. I don't even want the white-tailed deer, an animal that ranges throughout the entire Americas and would make arguably more sense.
