You have three choices:

1) Point ship at nearest star and use conventional engines to get there;
2) Mint bit coins with the electric power you would have used with the game running for 24/7/356;
3) Swallow pride and die.

4th is clear save and start again.

If yes, just point the nose to the next star, let it run for a week, log off, log on and be gone. Or at least thats how it worked...
It'll take a week, but if you done it a week ago, you'd be out of the woods now.

That said, I never tried how far I'd get in SC on one tank. Could be just a couple of LY. In that case, you're toast.

Didn't someone try that once .... and they couldn't enter the adjacent system except by entering the jump sequence?
