You can't get from one system to another in SC, it's been tried. Even if you've travelled the right distance, only a hyperjump creates/loads the next system. And you can't even "shorten the distance" by supercruising partway and then jumping.

As far as I know, long ago someone in beta tried it before release in 2014, you can travel in CS to the next star, but on arrival the start won't be there. You need a jump to get a system from star forge, or you need to re-enter the game. So a log off-on would give you what you need, when you are close enough to the system.

Well, according to another thread that is running on this same predicament:

But if you got rats to fill you up then SC until range reduced enough to make jump it would be doable, and yes it does work I have gotten my self stuck in the past and used the method, it takes hours if not days to travel at 2000c to reduce the range, you have to keep an eye on it and calculate your usage to distance covered and time to predict when you are getting close as you can scupper yourself in deep space.

Oh but:

No, that doesn't work. If you think it worked then you just increased your range by burning off fuel and sitting stationary would have had the same effect.

Sorry I'm confused.

As much as I feel for the OP, he right royaly copulated the canine, I dont understand the post.

Are you complaining that FDEV are a fault, that its a bug or something?
Do you think they should fix your predicament or are you just hoping they might?

lol@ ninja .... half a ninja ... a sort of nin

Didn't someone try that once .... and they couldn't enter the adjacent system except by entering the jump sequence?
True. But they tried to get into a permit locked system.

Here's a thought, if you fly in SC for some time (hours, days, whatever) to get within the premium boost jump range of the ship, and hopefully have enough fuel left for a jump, then it should be possible. A bridged-jump, essentially. Bridge the distance with SC, then jump the remainder.

Don’t suppose Cannon can come and jump and get you with the Gnosis?
You replied to my post. I'm not the one stuck. :D

I wouldn't make the mistake he did (or would at least work hard on avoiding it), because I've been on the fringes jumping around having to consider his dilemma with every single jump.

Yeah, I saw that after I posted it and deleted the quote.

Apologies, apparently big sausage fingers and iPod Touches don’t mix.

Poor game design? Breaks immersion? How can it be either to allow the player the freedom to do both smart AND dumb things?

This.

OP wants FD support to break immersion to get him out of a hole he dug himself into. Claims allowing him to jump into an unsurvivable situation in the first place is an "immersion breaker"... Lolwut?

Fly into a rock at high speed? Boom. You die.
Boost in through the letterbox without enough decel to avoid the pickle forks at the back of the docking bay? Boom. You die.
Shoot the station? Boom. You die.
Muff your approach to a high-G landing? Boom. You die.
Get too close and e-dropped into a neutron stars gravity well? Boom. You die.
Jump into a region you can't jump out of? You die.

There are literally dozens of ways you can put yourself into situations you simply cannot get out if in ED. And if you do any of them to yourself, your shiny spacefaring tuchas is TOAST.

And you know what, OP? THIS IS IMMERSION.

Breaks my immersion.

But the golden Hand of God reaching down and saving your CMDR's ship with a mulligan, because you filed a support ticket, after not looking before you lept, doesn't?

Only thing your CMDR has left with the range to unstuff himself is his escape pod. Your ship needs to be scuttled for insurance purposes and wouldn't be easily retrievable anyway. If your CMDR cannot handle that, he can stay where he is.
