This new location is working for me very well. I was able to complete 3 out 4 missions taken in sortie. I didn't fail the fourth; I abandoned it as I had lost my SRV on the third base, the rewards weren't great, and I was facing time constraints.
The base I lost my SRV at had a name that started with M - Mori, or Moria. I can't remember. Anwyay, I parked it downhill from the base - about 400m out and out of sight of the Revenants. It was a Scarab SRV. I was NEVER spotted by the Revenants at this base. I got zero warning my SRV was under attack. Just an message popping up saying it was destroyed. I have no idea whether the Revenants killed it or something else, but suspect the Revenants since they all redeployed to that side of the base. Didn't matter though, as they all attacked my Dolphin when I recalled it (1 km from base). All they did was scratch the paint (99% hull).
I used a Dolphin based on your build, but slightly
modified. I can't stand not having a fuel scoop. I also traded out one of the Heatsinks for Shutdown Pulse Neutralizer. The ship runs so cold, one pre-engineered heat sink should be enough.
That's an interesting build, but I'll stick with the Dolphin. Maybe even try the Federal Dropship again.
I really, really wish the Scorpion was invisible to the scouts like Scarab is (based on your tests). They seem to run at the same temp - in fact, my Scorpions tend to run a little cooler as I've never seen them go above 20, while the Scarab has hit 22. Could have really used the Scorpion on the that Mori base, as the iceball it was on had my Scarab slipping and sliding all over the place. Scorpion's traction (no surprise, giving how much more it weighs) would have been really nice.
I still want to know what spotted my SRV and blew it up. While I love on foot mission, I do not love running kilometers to and from a base. That is why we have SRVs.
