So if we get a porcupine, it's probably going to be the animal that takes the most time designing. How many clone/near clone type animals would be sufficient to offset this? I'm thinking for many packs we get 2-3 of those type by this point, but the porcupine will probably extra troublesome. Maybe they'll end up having to put 4 clone/near clone types in the pack to offset this, if it's an animal pack, or 3 if it's a scenery pack. Which is generally fine with me as an animal pack, but as a scenery pack it will be more of an issue.
Still let's consider the animal pack. I'm assigning a "work level" of how much work I'm thinking it will probably be to put in for each animal in this example
Crested Porcupine (work level 5 - new rig which will be extra difficult to model due to quills)
Secretary Bird (work level 4 - new rig)
Hamadryas Baboon (work level 4 - new rig, unless they are able to use much of the Mandrill rig, in which case the work level would be 3)
Sand Cat (work level 3 - can likely use the lynx rig as the base, but with a lot of adjustments)
Collard Peccary (work level 2 - probably can use the existing piggy rig as the base, and make adjustments but not overburdened in doing so)
Saiga Antelope (work level 2 - can use the antelope base, not a lot of adjustments to be made except for the head)
Dromedary (work level 2 - can use the camel base with some adjustments, but not a lot of adjustments.)
We don't have one here but a level 1 would essentially be a reskin with very minor adjustments.
In this example, for the 7 animals that's a work level total of 21-22. Which evens out to an average of level 3 work involved. Which sounds about right for me as for a middle, balanced ground.
Other possibilities include a Jackal of some type (work level 2 off of the Dhole rig, if not a level 1 work level)
Black Rhino (again a level 2 work level)
Masai Giraffe (likely a level 1 work level)
I realize these "work levels" are being pulled from nowhere, but I'm trying to use something to show the effort involved and how it could be offset. I'm not just assigning these numbers at random, I promise. I'm really looking at the work involved for the entire pack. Maybe some of these would be more or less work than I think. But to keep in mind, if you're wanting to add more work intensive animals in, you have to take away something work intensive as well, to balance out.
