Best way to mine at an RES + Hotspot overlap?

yes but better still would be for already prospected rocks to stay on your map, and with depleted ones shown in a different colour.
That would be great, indeed.

Or, if there could be some engineer mods specific to the flight suit. To give a reason to do space stuff, and get some benefits to the space stuff.
What you are suggesting could be one of them.

A simple "transparent" way to achieve this might be for FDev to expand the functionality of the PWA so it does this.

When you're laser-mining the PWA would show depleted 'roids as very dark and, perhaps, highlight Prospected 'roids in a different colour... as well as doing all the current DC-mining related stuff.
Honestly, though, if it just showed depleted 'roids as dark that'd probably be sufficient for most people, and it'd be a heap more useful than it is now.

Note: "material content" refers to the ENGINEERING material content, not the quantity/quality of the metals/minerals in the rock. You just need to look at the percentages.

WHAT??? for real???? How could I have been so wrong for so many years (well, all in all, I do not mine that often)?????
And I was wondering what there were low/medium/high in addition to the percentage.
Geeze... ;'-)
Further note, while nothing I've read from anyone else confirms this, my own observations suggest this refers to the grade of engineering mats you can receive, not the quantity. I think (it has seemed, but I have not actually counted) there are actually more engineering mat fragments on a "low" content asteroid because grade 1 mats like Iron and Nickel drop at a higher percentage, whereas a "High" content asteroid will be likelier to drop fragments like Niobium or Tungsten (or if the angels attend, Selenium), but will drop fewer material fragments overall because these mats are lower-probability drops.

I have thought of testing this by putting all mats on the "ignore" list and tabulating how many fragments are left floating in space (and what type/grade) at several high-, medium-, and low-material content asteroids, but I don't care enough to actually invest the time.

EDIT: I formed this theory hunting Rhenium and noting that I typically gathered more of it from "low" content asteroids than from "high."
