Patch Notes Update Beta 2.06 incoming

Haven't played enough this beta round due to time restraints but yet again it leaves me without words on the dedication and hard work FD are putting into this title.

Played games since I was a little kid and I dont recall ANY (specially AAA companies) putting in the sheer amount of effort and work in regards to patches. Hats off to you guys. Impressed. Glad my 200 quid alpha donation was made, deserve every penny of it. :)

not sure what this means and or why:
- When starting docked, start in your own island

does it mean when there's one person in a system, then i login, i start in my own island and will not be matched with that person (if in appropriate range)?
and if so, why?
 
By 17.30 BST Beta 2.06 will be available for download. The devs have spent the last few days looking through thousands of ticket logs, crash reports and forum posts in order to come up with fixes for some pressing issues.

The change log for 2.06 can be seen below:

- Ensure correct flag set when there are repeated authority transfers
- When starting docked, start in your own island
- Prevent ambient NPCs spawning before player is ready
- Tighten key and seed generation flow
- Add thread locks to protect against threading issues on server
- Additional docking logging
- Increment network protocol version

On top of these changes, a few server-side updates have been implemented. You can see the details below:

- After the weekend's excellent testing, we've made some more performance improvements to the Exploration Servers. In particular, the Universal Cartographics shop should respond more quickly.
- Fixed a softlock whenever a Commander purchased a different ship.

Thanks again for every single minute of the game you've played, commanders. We look forward to reading the feedback you have on Beta 2.06.

Still no fix for the graphics issue :(

Looks like my spanking new, still unused X52 Pro HOTAS will collect some dust for a bit longer. Ah well. Anyhow, thanks for hte 2.06 patch, i'm sure you are working very hard to get all issues sorted, so keep up the good work.
 
Upgrade 2.06 Freezing/Stuttering

I remain having this issue, I had hoped this upgrade might have addressed it.

I have tried resolving it on PC side but everything is fine outside of Elite Dangerous Client. It's only when in game that the CPU hits 100% all 6 cores are in full swing and your forced to stutter your way to your destination.

Things are compounded (100 fold) when you move from windowed mode to desktop mouse moves a few mils freezes then shoots across screen and you waste 3 mins trying to get back to windowed mode game screen just to get things to work again.

Everything was fine prior to Beta 2.00/2.06 so what broke?

To rub salt into wound 2 server crashes in 2.06 in 15 mins ...

More than likely its to fix the issue where when you are logging into the game where you are docked, the game sits on the sidewinder logo because its trying to connect to all the other clients around the station which sometimes has bugs causing endless loading.

By starting in your own island, you essentially start the game alone at your station, once you are logged in and sat in your station, the client will start making connections to other players and introduce them into your game world.

Sounds like a sensible approach for now.

Hi. Make sure you fill out a ticket. I can grab your email address and make sure the QA team look in to it right away. It'll help us isolate some more freezes and crashes across the board... for other people too.
 
Cool beans....

Today, I noticed with multiple researched maps for sale in the Cartogaphics Store the Sell All option doesn't respond. Each map needs to be sold separately.

Before 2.06 I had intermittent issues with unknown source scanning. Sometimes it would scan and other times (regardless of how I tried to unselect/re-select/boost/get close/increase dsitance etc.), it wouldn't.

Will try again and post tickets if repeated.

Probably a dumb question but are patch notes published anywhere? would be nice to keep track.

Targeting seems thoroughly borked in new patch though, fyi.

Erm..

- No Supercruise-Exit
- Shaking screen
- Sell All still not working

But mainly... No supercruise-exits for me (tried 3 different stations).
