I've only tended to think of them only in destruction... i.e. the reference to the object still exists, but the data it's referencing is bobbins and invalid. In modern languages, it's usually a disposed object waiting to be garbage collected... but with a hanging reference that gets, er.... referenced.

It was said there will be a partial wipe. Meaning we loose our ships but will keep the money earned. Not sure what you mean by a waste of £50 though.
