As many others have already said, once again thanks for all the hard work and progress through all of these updates. First class

Big cahunas to release on a Friday PM. Not a risk free option... Does speak to the confidence within the team. Or of course, the overtime budget...

Still no fix to the game not playing in full screen and crashing, reported since PB1, fed up playing this game in a window.

Please fix.

"Reduce server maximum packet size from 1500 to 1400 bytes as temp workaround for Mission BBS problems"

This would be so nice! Thank you very much, Sir!

Update:
It works FLAWLESS now! Thank you so much! I really, really appreciate it!
You all saved my ED-Weekend.

:D

I have to refuse. Obviously it was random working. Now i tried several times to get a mission from bulletin board, without any success.

:( kinda annoying

Well there is a horde of Elite customers parking their tanks on Frontier's front lawn, firing £50 notes through the window.

Oculus Rift performance was not very good with the original beta release, however 1.02 improved it quite a bit and the microstutter was removed. With 1.03, the stutter has returned again. I know it's not very important because we are running it in our DK2s using a workaround until Frontier can update to Oculus SDK 0.40, but I just wanted to let you know. It feels like vsync wasn't working at all, it's running at 75hz but it feels choppy when moving my head around.

I love it. What a game this is already!

Sorry for those who are still having trouble. What I am about say won't make you feel any better. I have been away all week so tonight I have updated the Launcher and then upgraded from PB to Beta 1.3 in a single Jump. I've had no issues in either connection or gameplay. Lovely smooth graphics with no juddering or dropping frames. Transition between normal and Frameshift drive has been gentle and pain-free. No issues so far with disappearing stations or death by launching. Missions work, well the one I have completed did anyway - they are a bit generous in their rewards! Now looking to head out into the far corners (?) of this bubble.

I am loving this game.

Take care.
Jon

Just played Standard Beta for the first time today in MP.

Was playing Premium Beta and Alpha quite regularly in the past, but circumstances (Fiance returning home to Russia in 5 days for an unknown amount of time), meant I had to prioritise time with her over all else. Just had 1 hour negotiated due to bath luxuriation procedures.

I must say: Wow. And again, backwards: Wow.

I am a little confused about trading now (a feeling I absolutely LOVE in this context), but the bulletin board, the sound improvements, the lighting improvements, the... well, frankly, EVERYTHING is just awesome.

And there's lag. Yep. Because there are a massive number of new players and unknown connection issues contributing - all of which I know will be dealt with in time.

Not sure why every commander I send a text message to ignores me though, but still...

This "game" is shaping up to be more than what I dared dream back when I submitted my pledge from Javea in December 2012...

You guys are amazing.

Thank you for everything so far. :)

Weird that you had this experience. For me it was the original beta/1.01 that mostly worked with just a bit of dizziness due to my GPU not being able to hit 75fps in our extended-mode workaround. 1.02 introduced a really bad stutter in/around stations that wasn't there before and I haven't had a chance to try out 1.03 as I am still at work for another 20 minutes.

Guess it goes to show, until Oculus fixes some issues with SDK 0.4 and devs have a chance to implement properly-functioning direct-mode gameplay, we're probably gonna have to deal with these sorts of issues.

I guess it's a testament to how much fun it is when it *does* work that we keep playing in the Rift despite needing hacks and workarounds to get it mostly-working ;)

Impressed..

I had my doubt when I got in to this a few months ago. I wondered if time had somehow "overtaken" Frontier. Could they carry the weight of their own legacy?

Now one thing is clear. Frontier is to game-development what BMW is to car-production: Completely dedicated to engineering-perfectionism and costumer satisfaction, and even if the price-tag is bolder than most other companies, worth every cent.

Respect.

And theyre lightyears ahead of the community. Kudos to the PM.

Since this patch, I have started to experience micro stuttering, much like those with the Rift do.

Thing is, I don't own a rift. Previous patches ran fine on my rig, with high frame-rate.

I think I am going to submit a ticket on this one with my system specs.
