Hi,I actually wonder if my mods still work after all the updates... I've not even checked
Thanks for mentioning this. I doubt I will find the time to fix the mod in any foreseeable future unfortunately due to other projects and commitmentsHi,
I tried out Starfield in the summer after the land vehicle was added, and noticed that your mod Randomised or Levelled Vendor Credits is no longer working. It probably stopped working because the devs added the new gameplay option "Vendor credits". I initially set that to "Moderately increased", but they were still quite poor. When I recently started playing again, I changed that to "Greatly increased", and it looks like it should help quite much with selling loot, but I have not stress tested that yet. I also changed some other settings at the same time so that I now get +17% XP. But I'm sure that the new game option doesn't beat the "Rich vendors" version of your mod, in which the Trade Authority office in New Atlantis always had 187 000 Cr in cash after each cash reset. I my opinion, the Trade Authority should have a lot of money because of the size of their trading network, and their business model.
I play with only one mod, which corrects a minor visual issue that bothered me - the spaceship HUD running at 30fps while the rest of the game was at 60fps.Well ... its on sale again for 40% off and I'm itching to buy it. I have a couple of questions before I leap.
I've never used mods very much with past games. Is SF good to play vanilla ?
I have a few hundred hours it's ok but definitely wasn't what I was expecting.I play with only one mod, which corrects a minor visual issue that bothered me - the spaceship HUD running at 30fps while the rest of the game was at 60fps.
I really enjoy the game and I’m still faintly puzzled by the hate it generates, but, you know, people
The game doesn't need mods, however, the strength of Bethesda games is that the moddability helps improve any aspects that you feel would improve your enjoyment.Well ... its on sale again for 40% off and I'm itching to buy it. I have a couple of questions before I leap.

X4 is the only game I used any mods ... only 3 or 4 iirc.
I've never owned a Bethesda game and the closest game I played that had FPS as its primary mode of play was ME:A and Spacebourne2. (and Odyssey but I'm fairly new to ED:O)
I don't have big expectations with SF (like some ppl did). My main focus is ship building, flying around a new set of star systems and wander aimlessly living on my space Yacht exploring new things.
... and I sure as hell won't be posting anything over at the Steam forum about the game ... those are rabid hate filled ppl over there.
What Numa says. Vanilla keys drops and inventories to your level. You're unlikely to see the better gear until some levels in. So return from sales is not great. I'd say most returns are probably quest rewards unless you maybe make automated mining and fab empire - which also takes more levelling up. Vendor money is the worst hindrance to riches. Some traders take the data from exploration or bio samples and give good payouts (until they run out of funds). Obviously you can do the 24h waiting to have vendor restock if that's your cuppa. Or get a mod for that. Quests don't care for trader funds. Also taking over ships and selling them - I think the starport vendors have larger fund pools. But "used" ships get a huge percentage cut in worth to payout. You make like 30 cents on a dollar only. I always end up with excess items when redesigning ships. Might be a way to dupe items. The world is your oyster but the thing is I guess that players rather would see one big chunk to sink their teeth in than so many shards across many stars. So far, I've made it through the Old Neighborhood mission and returned to the Lodge with The Artifact. I've gone no further, so far, which will obviously change ... .
Can you jump out of the Main Mission and sand box it ?
If so, at what stage ?
(i.e., The Empty Nest, Old Neighbor, ?? )
What's the best way to make money sufficient to build a small ship ?
If its possible, that would be good.

During this fall I got interested in chems and so I did research on them and got the ability to craft high-end chems, like for example the Black Hole Heart and the Giant Heart. But so far I have not used them because I have easily survived without them. Maybe if I were to play at hard or very hard difficulty, I would probably find them useful. The crafting is like super disappointing. Especially the chemist line. Every friggen recipe that is somewhat useful requires a ressource that you need to buy from vendor. Forget about stimulant empire. The corpos have the new worlds already by the balls with licenced products on all key materials.
