Game Discussions Bethesda Softworks Starfield Space RPG

What is the missing word between "but as a ------ you are stuck"? Do you have any PC savvy friends who could create the USB drive for you?
i shortened doorknob - no idea why filter finds that offensive. In the end I used an account to make an entry, then used console to give particular rights and shut out the requirement and then created another user and deleted the first one once done. The USB surely is handy, but my way always works when you don't have any tools. It's just unnecessary busywork.

So I read someone say and I could be wrong that if you are a subscriber of Gamepass Ultimate you get the ability to stream games from some service included?

Which means you can stream it to pc and the performance is coming from elsewhere? Never knew about this this before but might give it a try if my old girl can't handle it.

I dont think that is tied to gamepasses. The streaming service needs to feature a game in their lineup. How you purchase isnt important. Gamepass itself should probably have a streaming option as a business proposition some day

Don't know this sounds like you might be able to or at least on old Xbox.

Yep, Xbox gamepass is one of several current cloud gaming services, though the Gamepass Ultimate version is needed for cloud gaming. The idea is that the game runs on their server and just passes the video to your machine (PC, Xbox iPad, Mac, smartphone, etc) which passes your controller information back to the server for in-game control. Think you view it through a browser window running on your machine at 1080p & you need a good internet connection. But I have no experience of cloud gaming so was asking how reliable it is.

Yeah never really knew about this before until someone mentioned it in thread previously. I subscribe to ultimate for my kid and it let's us play co-op between pc and Xbox One X on certain games which is cool.

Not really a good time for pc upgrade / rebuild or buying a new console so might end up trying this as a guilty pleasure.

Was reading more about it at discussion here. Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/xcloud/comments/t1f1ct/any_guesses_if_bethesdas_starfield_will_come_to/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=2

It’s been confirmed that Starfield will be available on Xbox gamepass, I think from release day, & I think also confirmed that it will be available under cloud gaming (but date for that is not clear to me, hopefully release day!). Makes commercial sense for Bethesda since many people won’t want to/can’t afford to spend a thousand smackeroos or so to buy new or upgrade their PCs to run a game.

My original question was asking about the quality of the service, e.g. I imagine lag might be a problem on slower internet connections......

Afaik you pay streaming service and the purchase is included. They may have selected interface with diszribution platforms, so you need to check case by case.

Actually now is a good time to build a new pc, prices are going down.

Well Ive been checking prices for a couple of weeks, playing with possible builds on PCPartPickers, and the “Starfield -AMD bundle” seems to have pushed prices up over the last couple of days, at least in UK! Daniel Owen has a yt on Prime Day “savings” which is worth watching. See his use of CamelCamelCamel website.

I got a good AMD bundle including Starfield premium, overall -30% cut in price but yes locally you can maybe see an increase in prices.

It seemed to me yesterday when I was checking out this that the UK bundle retailer prices were quite a bit higher than the cheapest. For example I saw 5 7600X at around £208 the other day (Amazon IIRC) but checking the bundle deal think the same processor was £264....

Seems to me the best way ahead is to ignore the bundle deal and new PC builds, and subscribe to a cloud gaming service at around £12/month. Then expect to play the game for a couple of months at total cost of around £40!

Yes, if locally they are charging a higher cost then cloud is the best solution, as i said locally you can maybe find a good deal, right now amazon sell 7600x for -23% MSRP
and the game is 60 USD MSRP and with the 7600x you will get the basic version of SF.

3D printing sites have been busy firing out anything with a Starfield logo on it.

...A couple of simple but fetching desk stands to rest your overly expensive limited edition Xbox controller on in between play sessions...If someone comes up with one for the Elite v2 controller...I'm having the .stl file to print one off for myself :)

I watched this video about Bethesda and it was very interesting because it gives you a tiny insight how they think and what they try to do, it was actually very honest, and
some of the answers was kind of not what you expected, if you're interested in SF and would like to know, like I did what makes them tick, this is a good start.
