Yeah, I'm getting that sense. There are some very few games that I'll pay $60, and this may just be one of them.
I've been thinking about this, and even if there is a sale this year, it will likely be puny, like 25% max. Usually it takes a good year or more before you get those amazing Steam sales, and I doubt I can wait that long!
Funny you mention RDR2, because it dawned on me yesterday that I've yet to complete the main story (as you say, I lost myself in the world), and if I get Starfield too soon, I many never finish RDR2, LOL!
I was originally willing to pay full price for Odyssey back before it released, back when I thought it would actually be a good DLC. We all know how that story ends. Which does make me a little cautious, because people are praising Starfield in the same way certain people have praised Odyssey. The big difference for me between researching Odyssey and Starfield is that I want my "first time" to be special, so I really don't want to spoil anything about the game, which eliminates watching long playthroughs like I did with Odyssey.
So I guess a litmus test for Starfield would be, are there any Starfield fanatics who hate / strongly dislike / don't love Odyssey? Or are they two peas in the same pod?
