Can you provide more info? Engineered one ship in b3 and it worked as expected?

I encountered an issue where it locked me into the engineering screen when trying to engineer the next available grade, caused me to waste a few rolls of mats. I think it was just a lag issue though. Dropped to main menu and came back, and the issue was gone.

I had a similar problem reloading last night in Beta 3, once at a starport and once with synthesis. No crash and no wasted mats but the reload would not register. In both cases relogging cured the problem and the game even correctly registered the amount of synth I had used.

I have bug reported. I hope it is just Beta lag. Having to menu quit every time I want to synth might harm my reputation...

Precisely my point. I am a sub par combat pilot, yet have never accidentally murdered a player or NPC, which is literally the only way you can score notoriety. Not that its like Notoriety will even stop you playing the game. Just move to a new jurisdiction and/or swap to an unwanted ship.....so 1 day or 1 week decay times won't hurt anybody's ability to play the game. Yet to hear Sleut, you'd think it would be the end of the world.

Yea, it's always been easy to avoid, especially accidental bounties but even bounties acquired on purpose. I don't think you'll be able to accident your way to a point where you're wanted by an entire Superpower, so there's plenty of places to move to in the bubble until your notoriety goes down. A point per hour seems like it's going to be pretty quick, but we'll see. There does need to be a point where it stops though because aside from banning, no punishment is going to be harsh enough for those who are going to abuse the system so we probably shouldn't have C&P geared toward slowing them down. It can really only get to the point where people are just discouraged from being a bad guy completely and I do like being a bad guy from time to time. In any case, back to the point, accidents shouldn't be something to worry about when it comes to notoriety as there are already ways for the player to mitigate them and ways the developer mitigates them. Flippantly shooting things with no regard for surroundings or having no trigger discipline is as much an accident as someone going 100mph on the freeway, weaving in and out of traffic and then blaming others he/she finally plows into.

Dude, think of the lesson you'll learn from touching that hot stove, though!

That would be "fair" if the game was consistent. In Massacre missions you don't have to wait for the scan to finish, the Wanted/Mission target stuff.
So why would I have wait for the scan in a Res when 5 cops are shooting at the target? Must be a reason 5 cops are shooting, no?

fully converted my full god rolled ship to new engineers in the beta. things are looking good, and finally going to be fair for everyone. o7 thank you for all your hard work. I hope all these changes carry over to the final patch :D

no point in TRYING to play the Beta. every time you try to engineer it lags and never resumes, you have to exit out and retry until it does it again 15min later. Like ive said a 1000x, the engineering bull needs to be stripped, removed and never looked at again.

Engineers

  • Additional Engineer Blueprint Changes
Power Distributor:
- Priority X blueprints: Increase Charge rate on primary capacitor from 36%->44% (was 30% in beta 1)

Shield Generator:
- Reinforced: Increase Damage resistance 15%->16.5% / Increase Optimal Strength 35%->38%

Shield Booster:
- Heavy Duty: Revert Beta 2's increase to the health multiplier, 40%->38%

Armour:
- Heavy Duty: Reduce health multiplier increase from 35% to 32%

Hull Reinforcement Packs:
- Heavy Duty:Health Addition +60%->72%
- Lightweight: Mass reduction: -15%->-24%

You forgot to mention the stealth nerf to Grade 5 Dirty Drives, adding -1% to optimal mass to slow down all our speedy racers!

And what's worse is> dirty drive grade 5 was removed from my ships... you guys better not pull this stunt on live... people will get upset ;)

EDIT: Or at least... it looked like it'd been removed from outfitting.... the blue print was still applied, I'll bug report this.

EDIT2: Looks like I jumped the gun - it's 12.5% as it was before it's just rounded the blueprint up to 13%. and the "removal" is a display bug!

EDIT3: Just to make sure I re-rolled the drives from scratch, getting the same numbers as before! [heart]

All is well nothing to see here...

MAINTENANCE ON PS4 ! !

[mad][mad][mad]For the love of GOD! I'm new and I'm really UPSET because you cut the game off on my mission, why do maintenance instead of restarting the game when you're done updating? ? I'm complainting because of useless maintenance. Maintenance = CAN'T PLAY ! [mad][mad][mad]

I do not appreciate maintenance anymore. But I love this game, I love to explore, but stop cutting instead of restarting the game when you are done updating your files! GRRR

Maintenance happens at the same time every Thursday. Try to plan your missions around that limitation.

Well ibe always thought that cops scanning a ship should auto mark it as wanted, say a basic low reward, when your scan finishes then the full bounty gets applied ... then add the rest when you do a warrent scan ...

My problem? None as I don't do combat or play open.

The problem with that solution, number of days. Of course is an average that might or might not be close to reality, since some people may play for 10 hours and others for 1.

So if you are at 10 notoriety, that would be 420 days, over one year in real time to go back to 0. Seems a lot like fun.

While we are at it, maybe we should have to fill an in game income tax every year, make the thing more realistic.

6 hours a day still makes it 28 days, and for 10 notoriety, 280 days, or almost a year. Is that something you would enjoy?

This is Beta. The numbers are subject to change with or without notice. That does seem a little excessive.

Ask me again after it goes live.

Some interesting things in there.

  • Notoriety now updates periodically during gameplay (reducing by 1 unit per hour of gameplay)

Hmmm open to abuse?

Indeed, perhaps make no reduction in Notoriety if there has been no hotas/keyboard/mouse input during the last hour to prevent players just going afk overnight while they are docked at a station. This should be a relatively easy timer to sync with the notoriety reduction.

I've put quite a few light years, and nearly 30,000 systems behind me so far, and have never taken nor really ever needed heat sinks, so for me, it's a non issue. However, I do know quite a few explorers that swear by them...

Depends upon your build. If your OC Power Plant is as small as possible on your exploration build and you are running it at 98% all the time with poor thermal efficiency thrown in too,
https://inara.cz/galaxy-blueprint/13/
you could easily find you need heat sinks on occasion.

On the other hand... Just go visit Skardee 1... https://eddb.io/body/9781316

But you need to at least allow lvl1 to go down to lvl0 when new players accidentally hit a clean ship just before some pirate kills it at a res, for example.

That's happened to me on more than one occasion. I try to remember to leave the haz res and then re-enter to clear that particular *Gotcha*.

Are you turning off unnecessary modules? You don't need the shields and distributor during super cruise for instance.
