Some time ago it was default, then it was removed, then put back for when game was in background, not in foreground. QA mistook it for spec implementation.

Ahh, right. Plenty of times i've nearly gone boom because I'm on a long haul somewhere in deep space and tired. Got used to throttling down on the 4 sec countdown now anyhoo. :)

So almost all the blueprints have been buffed to be the old theoretical max, except I want better lightweight sensors and lightweight. However these blueprints don't match the previously theoretical max?? :'(

Oh I've just noticed this

The dark side of planets is no longer pitch black

This is not good news. Planets are too bright as it is anyway! When you approach a planet from the dark side and as you reach orbital cruise it suddenly gets much brighter, is a very jarring experience and one that I don't like.

It's the dark side of a planet, it should be dark!

Please make it so.

Well, technically they shouldn't be pitch black. It isn't pitch black on earth. But it is somewhat jarring the way it gets lighter, it needs to be much smoother. Hopefully the new lighting system in Q4 will help with that.

I would have the decay longer then that myself.
No point, I think - it's already slow enough to make waiting it out the inefficient method.

If I kill a clean ship in a FDL then I end up with Notoriety 1, and a sizable bounty.

I can clear that bounty instantly by attacking a station (at a cost of say 10 million in rebuy depending on loadout). I can then spend maybe 20 minutes doing some basic missions to earn that money back. Or, I can wait an hour and pay it off at IF for less.

With Notoriety 2 or higher then even in a full combat Cutter with a 50 million rebuy it's more time efficient to clear the bounty by dying, then do a bit of high-earning work to get the money back (since there are a lot of way to use a ship that big to earn well over 25M/hour), than it is to wait for it to just wear off.

So long as it stops people going kill-jump to IF-clean-jump back-kill in a short loop, it's enough.

  • Fixed throttle automatically setting to zero when exiting a hyperspace jump
  • Fixed an issue that limited the amount of input devices on PC to four
Hallelujah!

  • Removed bounty/fine cost multiplier at Interstellar Factors based on notoriety
Wuh? But I thought that was the point of notoriety? (maybe I'm missing something)

Installations/POIs/USSs
  • When using limpets to interact with Megaships, crimes will no longer trigger if you are in silent running, but will result in an authority response
Interesting.

Planets
  • Fixed the missing fog on planet surfaces
Yay!

  • The dark side of planets is no longer pitch black
Boo!

Ships
Alliance Chieftain

  • Tweaked flight model to improve lateral and vertical thrust
Yay!

Anaconda
  • Fixed the positioning of the String Lights
Must remember to test that in 10 months time. ;)

UI
  • Fixed some overlapping text in the Message Inbox
Thank the lord (I hope).

And in general, thanks Ed and co. for all the hard work. Looking good.

Because the earth as an atmosphere that scatters starlight and moonlight to provide a small amount of ambient light, this doesn't happen on airless bodies, it should be quite dark and areas that aren't directly lit by any reasonably large light source should be completely black. Also remember that you are seeing from ground level, the ground is quite dark when seen from above at night with no moon in the sky.

However it was to dark for some people. Personally I quite liked it, but that's me.

LOL ... just catching up on the other comments here. This "fix" seems popular ... NOT!

Problem is that 'planet surface lighting up' feature was glitching out though, and you can't really make it optional or introduce some sort of switch during beta for this. So while no one wants pitch black to go (well, us here on forums), we will have to wait for real fix in Q4 release.
