Patch Notes Update Beyond - Chapter Four 3.3 - Patch Notes

materials

the mining additions also mentions the addition of high value materials,
does that mean an entirely new commodity, an existing commodity that can now be mined, the addition of new high rank engineering materials or the addition of high rank engineering materials to the drop table of asteroids?

I'm too stupid for the patch notes and the exploration changes :) .

The only thing I'm sure about is the Advanced Discovery Scanner is history, right?

But what about the FSS and the DSS? Are there still two scanners or is FSS a sub-mode of the DSS and is the DSS the only scanner remaining? Do we just need one slot for full range discovery scanning in the future or still two (FSS + DSS)?

All previous discovery scanners (Basic, Intermediate and Advanced) are now replaced by the discovery scanner (no range limit) and integrated into every ship as a built-in module.

The DSS still exists and still requires a slot, but is solely for mapping planets with probes to find POIs on the surfaces (geological, biological, human, and so on).

The FSS is an inbuilt module from today (unless they changed their mind!) so you would only need a slot for the DSS - if you had both in your ship you should gain a 'free' slot. It will be interesting if jump range goes up as both scanners in the beta were without any mass whereas in Live you were hauling another 4 tonnes'ish in scanners :)

EDIT: Ninja'd by Discocat

I didn't see anything regarding the analysis HUD mode, or having separate fire-groups for Analysis mode/combat mode.

If I missed this, can someone point it out? (I read through the notes a couple times)

Guys, the work you've done - it's simply amazing! Now it's no chance for other titles to get a second of my free time on upcoming holydays! Great work! As a sci-fi fan, oldschool gamer and ps4 owner - thank you!

p.s. going to renew my conda's look and character's outfit. He he, you deserved that dozen of buxx!

One thing scares me. It's something I've been complaining about for the past year and a half as a cutter user.

The PS4 version of the imperial cutter as a near game breaking sound glitch that will cause massive audio static the longer you play, akin to how a memory leak works. I have discovered and posted numerous bug threads about how it even comes about, landing at space stations trigger it, and it gets worse with each station you land at.

When you first start playing for the first half hour it's fine, after a half hour the audio gets so bad it's unplayable, and going in and out of the spaceport gate makes it the worst.

I've been complaining about this issue for well over a year. It's not my system or me. I've logged in on my friends systems and I know 4 other people who have cutters on ps4s that also have this issue. It's why I quit the game. I got real excited and thought about coming back after seeing this was gonna have a ton of fixes, but that bug fix is not listed at all in the patch notes of cutter. It's very upsetting and leads me to believe yet again they have done nothing about it.

I will withhold full judgement till I can actually play the game when the servers are back up. But it not being listed is not a good sign...

Frontier has said on my numerous bug threads about it that they are aware of the problem and are working towards a fix. They have been saying that for over a year now :(
