It is which HUD not what HUD colour, anything that isn't a weapon will only work from the analysis HUD you need to bind something to switch HUD modes, weapons won't work from analysis.
 
This time you just decided to re-post 3 of the fixes of the beta phase that were VR related.
But all the others are in as well? There were no fixes and features for VR since release of beta week 4?

Uh, need some help cause I must be missing something.
Yesterday when I launched elite it started to download and update. All fine. Then I could not launch due to server problems, issues debated in this very thread. Now I get a "server status : OK" in the launcher window but when i click "play" the button goes black for a couple of seconds and then light up in its usual blue color again.

Is there an outline of the correct procedure to update? I have logged out/logged in in the launcher window as well as validated the game from the option menu, still no luck. Is there a way i can see if the game really has updated at all?

On steam the ED launcher still show Horizon...Should there be Beyond Chapter 4 ?

ok now exploring, since i just left Great Annihilator to return to the bubble for a change of underwear (it was a more scary system than i expected and i'm not going within a system of Sag A* now...) i had lots of time to get used to the new scanning. played with it since a few systems before Great anni i found an earth-like. those complaining they no longer see the sights sound lazy. if you want to see sights you still have to fly to them like before. using the update as an excuse not to fly there then saying its the update makes you not fly there is . you HAVE to fly there to map it. mapping is like flying there to detail scan.

im not sure how they justify the efficiency target game. (my own take is use too many probes, then too much data each probe gathers overlaps too much and that makes the people you sell data too noisy and needing a lot more processing to make a map of the body; so they take the added costs -i.e. the efficiency bonus credits- to pay for that, rather than pay it to you.) but the probe efficiency is a nice challenge to get it right.

im able to see on the FSS at a glance if there is anything unusual or any earth likes without needing to actually find them so i now while scooping dont spend even as long as i did in the system map to decide if worth flying there or not. naturally i may miss planets by not 'resolving' them which have geologivcal features that way, but i want to get back to the bubble to see if my armed mining asp ex is still viable.

im concerned with the 3 stage mining of asteroid; if i dump shield or weapons i wont survive any pirate activity while mining meaning its unviable. so there wont be any point with the subsurface missiles if they are needing an extra hardpoint to what i have atm. i barely have enough weapons to face down or defeat attacks as it is. i dotn want mining or any other activity to require an extreme loadout - and in real life that would not happen OR there would not be the ability to even buy a ship with components you could swap out or sell or buy better for. there would just be the combat version, the mining version, the passenger version and the courier version and nothing else. that would also mess up missions where you might need to land on a planet to use the SRV and then fight your way out later on - you would have to swap from your unarmed SRV explorer ship to a combat ship at a station and the timer on the mission might be run out by the time the ship arrives. manufacturers would prefer that system in real life - they can put modules in a build that nobody otherwise would have bought because they were inferior and cheap and basic and then people want that mining ship then they have no choice but to take that module they wont use too.

but i'll see when i get back. it would disappoint me if i needed to find extra space for special mining missile to mine under the surface - particularly if as i also worry, some minable commodities are now ONLY found by subsurface mining or blowing the rock up. but i will see.

summary: i like the exploring changes. im worried about my mining asp not being viable.

Installing the new client, then the major update, has broken something. I haven't been able to access the game since the update.
When I try to start the game, I get two consecutive error windows:

"The program can't start because VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

I then get a similiar message for MSVCP140.dll.

So, according to these error messages, I need to reinstall.

My question is, is it possible to do this without destroying my ingame commander or destroying past progress in some other way ? If so, how ?

Installing the new client, then the major update, has broken something. I haven't been able to access the game since the update.
When I try to start the game, I get two consecutive error windows:

"The program can't start because VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

I then get a similiar message for MSVCP140.dll.

So, according to these error messages, I need to reinstall.

My question is, is it possible to do this without destroying my ingame commander or destroying past progress in some other way ? If so, how ?

If I were you I'd open a support ticket ... https://support.frontier.co.uk/kb/ and/or post in the bug forum.

(I think) it's unlikely you'll lose your Commander, as he/she is account based rather than held locally. If you do lose, Support may be able to help you to restore BUT better to give them a head's up with what's going on first imo.

A pain it is! Thanks for the quick answer. I was going to try opening a ticket if uninstalling/reinstalling failed to rectify the issue.

I just wanted to be sure that pulling the uninstall trigger wouldn't wipe my commander too.

If the commander itself is account based, I will go ahead and try it. Thanks for confirming. o7

Search your pc for those files and copy them to the folder where Watchdog64.exe is i solved it like that, choose the larger file in terms of KB
if you dont have those files on your pc install all from Redist folder first the visual c stuff
 
PLease fix servers, make the game playble again please. We paid money to play not to struggle with "server is unreachable".... Thanks

They have wasted our money. At a time when CIG invested tons of bucks into a solid network infrastructure, Frontiers (may be) optimized budged with AWS.
I'm going to give'em negative response in Steam. If I would know I won't be able to play it at all, I've never bought this 'early purchase' ... thing.
