I'm on Steam, I've downloaded and I am installing as I write ... hope it all works



Open the ED launcher and in the box at the bottom left*, where you see your game options (ED Horizons, non-Horizons, &c) scroll down tilll you see the appropriate beta.
Select that
Then click Install (or whatever) and wait

* p.p.s. The box by the PLAY button, iit is very small and has a thicker white line on the right-hand side.

Missing about 40m CR from my live account Is this normal? Voices in Rays are different too. Not sure if these are bugs or intentional so mentioning here first.

Yes..the save is stale from a few days weeks earlier...head to starter system..or Shinrarta for ships at 90% discount (usually)...nothing transfers out to live...what happens in beta, stays in beta...kill, destroy, break, whatever you want to do.

Your beta CMDR and your live CMDR are two different saves.

If that's the case, do the realities split at that point, or do you start in beta with fresh CMDR and zero credits, or... how does it work?

Yes..the save is stale from a few days weeks earlier...head to starter system..or Shinrarta for ships at 90% discount (usually)...nothing transfers out to live...what happens in beta, stays in beta...kill, destroy, break, whatever you want to do.

I'm guessing I'll start right in the system the Gnosis was bullied by Thargoids.

The Beta state is a copy of your live state from a few weeks ago, your Beta state is all gone when the Beta ends and has no effect on your live state. Some players will delete their save on the Beta and start from scratch, for example.

I had like 10 disconnection in 30 min with all of them resulting in a progress loss, putting me in the same spot where i started.

IF this is anything like multicrew and holome you'll have to set up all the new controls by yourself.

First thing I tried was opening the codex, instant crash. Now getting server connection issues of different types. Build is warm and indeed a beta!

Give it a few hours, wouldnt be the first time beta crashes every time initially it needs to pull something from the server.

Excellent Beta launch. If I could actually connect to a server for more then 5 min and crash going into supercruise.
