News Beyond - Chapter Four Livestream (01.11.2018) - Mining and Squadrons

If this livestream is gonna be as good as the previous two then when Q4 is released I'll become a stranger to my own wife and kids.
I've never bothered with mining but the few snippets I saw from the new mining in 3.3 look absolutely stunning.

I've never been so happy about being proven wrong as how Fdev is doing that with the Q4 update so far.

This will be like the gold rush.

Did you see the hotspot heatmap already in beta? Couldnt help but think of you. :p

Oh dear!

Doesn't bode well does it...

So probing rings, the first rings I find, dishes out loads of Hotspots - SO SEEMINGLY NOT RARE (So their importance is seemingly instantly gone)

And looking at them seemingly no sign of any state (eg: "100% remaining") - SO SEEMINGLY NOT STATEFUL (So any real depth is seemingly instantly gone - If they're not stateful then just go to the nearest one forever)

And dropping into one, immediately pirates spawn, for full mini-game effect direct as if we have cut and paste RES for Hotspots - SO SEEMINGLY NOTHING VERY NEW

Fingers crossed, but seems Hotspots aren't what they could and should be. And if they are what they (currently) appear to be, that's a really sad statement of intent as regards meaningful mechanics going forwards, at least for me. A real missed opportunity :(

[But hopefully something simply hasn't been turned on - But not expecting much now :(]

I was very reluctant towards the Q4 update, not being able to believe that it would change things that much for the better.
However, with every livestream Fdev has proven me very wrong and I'm genuinely excited to try all that cool new stuff out.
To bad we don't have beta on the Xbox, on the other hand I can dive into the whole package when it's released,.....only problem is where to start :D

They arent rare because they exist for every possible resource. The rare ones are hotspots for precious stuff. And no, they wont be 'stateful', but I have been gently told you so months ago. This is a way to combine the mining and exploration gameplay so miners find their own hotspots with precious stuff, which is cool. But not the Grand Vision you had. ;)

I can’t watch the livestream at all, apparently. Every time I click the link, it just says “invalid response received”. The rest of YouTube works fine.

Hello Commanders!
I was watching the live stream and I noticed that some player groups already reserved their Squadron names. How can I do this? Is there a form to fill?

Sorry to be so clueless, thanks in advance to whoever help me.

So hotspots are all but pointless. Why go to any hotspot to mine other than the most local one to you? ie: If you find one while exploring, it's worthless and pointless.

Massive missed opportunity IMHO - https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/454583-Hotspots-A-missed-opportunity?p=7129595

People could have just continued to have mine rings as we know them in the new way. Hotspots in truth add nothing :(

ps: The new mining mechanics look good!
