Big Elite Streamers Giving Up On Streaming Elite?

Let me rephrase that then, why do you think that a proper come back is intended to be planned?

You'll have to admit that Hello Games has been the notable exception to the rule - I'm not sure there's ever been a come back quite like that before or since in a game.
Final Fantasy 14 is the #1 greatest ever game comeback

Escape From Tarkov with its 50,000 viewers, not these small-fish games 😂
Both SC and ED are brutally tedious to watch, and almost none of the streamers have any kind of actually interesting skills or knowledge. Why would I watch a dude wait for a train for six minutes or fly in a straight line for ten more?

Escape from Tarkov, FS2020 and so on have either tension, excitement or professionally skilled and knowledgeable streamers. Of course people watch that instead.

I'm not aware of any restriction to a creating a DLC with a different PEGI rating to the base game, outside that sale of that DLC has to be restricted accordingly. Given this how these ratings are applied depends on the distributor or store in question. A company I once worked for had a children's app rejected from the Apple App Store on the basis that it depicted a cartoon cow that went moo when you pressed it's udders. This was apparently considered overtly sexual.
Sure, laugh about it. But be honest, you've truly never walked past a meadow, seeing some fine cows and getting sinful lust on your mind? We've all been there, no need to be shy about it.

Heck, I still sometimes think of a cow I saw in the distance years ago. I couldn't see the udder but I knew it was there. :)

I believe you are a little overreacting because of the influence of the Tubers and this forums.

No Man Sky took 2 or so years to make a proper come back. It hasn't been even 2 month since Odyssey launch.
Few weeks or months from now, all this turn coat Tubers will come back runing to Elite as if nothing has happend. Don't fall for their tricks. You will feel very silly because of it later.

No, I can form my own opinions, thanks.

NMS is a completely different situation, and here's why.

FDev are floated on the LSE and answerable to their shareholders. More than you or I.
Hello Games are not.
FDev have many different projects on the go. They'll survive the death of Elite.
Hello Games did not. NMS was their only product - so they either fix it, or die.
FDev are corporate.
Hello Games are a small, dedicated, passionate team of developers.
FDev have stated they have no future vision for the game
Hello Games have always had a clear vision of where they want to get to.

There is absolutely zero chance that Frontier can pull a NMS out of this, because a) they're saying they won't and b) the culture within the company is completely different. If I "look silly" later because of that - so be it. I couldn't care less... in fact, I'd be delighted to be proven wrong.

But I won't be. Not on this one. 🤷‍♀️

The way i understand it, if they have other games to support them, that means they can keep going with Elite despite not so good launch of Odyssey.
It feels like Frontier has more security in supporting their games than Hello Games had. So if Hello games managed to pull through than Frontier will do it even easier, right?

But this is what I find strange- and worrying in a way is that while FD have a hill to climb (excuse the pun) for Odyssey, they can earn at least some brownie points through small, quick wins by going back to the balancing patches they started doing. It would give the CMs something to do other than soak up forum anger, give us players something to think about, help the console launch (by improving the game ahead of time) and be cheap to do (as in, change a 1 to a 0.5 sort of change).

The worry comes from the absence of even these basic things, even after all this time.

I laugh at the comment the death of elite its been called for years yet here I am mining low temp diamonds and laughing
I don't think that sitting in your cockpit laughing to yourself whilst mining is entirely normal or healthy, what what

Try getting back to a station or settlement more often and engaging with people old bean.

That presumes that someone at the company still wants E: D to continue, and has the power to make that happen. That was always the hope when they released Planet Coaster, and then JWE, that they would "prop up" E: D. Maybe they have been doing. But there's no evidence from Frontier that if that even happened, it's going to continue. Remember that Odyssey's launch alone wiped $400million off the value of the company (about 1/3rd). That isn't going to be popular in the boardroom...

As I've pointed out earlier, Odyssey's release is not Frontier's first or only faux pas. There's an ongoing pattern here going back since 2014 that it's impossible to ignore if you're objective about it.

But this is what I find strange- and worrying in a way is that while FD have a hill to climb (excuse the pun) for Odyssey, they can earn at least some brownie points through small, quick wins by going back to the balancing patches they started doing. Which is why the accusation comes that FDev no longer care about Elite and have pulled funding for after the console release, and on current evidence, it's very difficult to argue against that.

Why bother making things better? Just push on to the next cash injection to meet their Q4 financials.

I've wondered for some time now if the developers have told not to touch any code written before Odyssey. Sounds bonkers but I have worked in development teams like that.

If its a new team of developers since Beyond Chapter 4 then it may explain a few things. Maybe the Beyond team have been moved to other IPs within FDEV or they've left.
